I ve just been reading the ground regulations regarding the use of mobile phones which are allowed in the ground for personal and private use and any captured images are not allowed to be posted on social media. Therefore if you apply these literally the person who does the Twitter postings for the club is in breach of regulations and should be evicted from the ground - because if they are doing it for the club they aren't using their phone privately or personally... plus they are posting on social media. Perhaps the ground regulations need updating to eliminate ambiguity. The regs apply to spectators. The club's official functions aren't really relevant to that.

Good luck to all concerned tomorrow when 500 odd Crawley Town supporters descend on GGL.

Hopefully a reasonable police presence outside the ground pre and post game. This fixture warrants it.

I'm sure a lot of people say things in the heat of the moment when they are letting off steam.
A lot of things said can also be mistaken as we have found from our recent visit to Tranmere.
When someone calls a player a big fairy for keep falling over is it sexist or suggesting the player has no strength ?
Everyone can have their own interpretation which i find a little worrying.

That's probably because people have realised how wrong it is. I'm sure a lot of people say things in the heat of the moment when they are letting off steam. Does that make it OK then, when it can make people feel unsafe or unwelcome? It's OK to abuse people as long as it only happens because you're angry? Do you apply that at home too? When someone calls a player a big fairy for keep falling over is it sexist or suggesting the player has no strength ? Everyone can have their own interpretation which i find a little worrying. That's homophobic. It's pretty well established that "fairy" is/has been used as an insult for a gay man. Not really any ambiguity there.

Who said anything about making people feel unsafe or unwelcome ? You are twisting my words ! People swear at football matches. men & women. In fact you probably don't remember this but we had a very vicious female supporter following Sutton once.

People used to live in caves but I guess we moved on......
All we are being asked to do is slightly modify our behaviour. You are not going to get thrown out for a swear word or two but repeated foul mouth abuse is not acceptable - you know it, I know it and the club know it.
Try to interact with people as you would want those nearest and dearest to you to be spoken too.
We are not being asked to be saints just not ignorant.

I remember her, recall her assaulting one of our own once (there may have been other occasions!). At Purfleet perhaps?

I think she was banned from GGL.

The club is asking spectators to refrain from behaviour that makes others feel that way. It shouldn't be too difficult to understand that. 2. Who said anything about swearing? Nobody has raised any issues about swearing. I certainly have no problem with it. 3. I do know who you're referring to, yes. What I don't know is how that's relevant to this conversation. I'm not sure why you've brought gender into either of the last two points, so please explain if you think I'm missing something. It doesn't matter who's swearing or who's being "vicious." Anyone who is in breach of the ground regulations is liable to face some sort of disciplinary response from the club at its discretion.

Is bad behaviour more prevalent in certain areas of grounds, behind the goal/s for example? Apart from the odd bit of swearing as mentioned i've never had any problems at GGL. I always try to watch football from a seat around the halfway line so i can watch the match in relative peace.Nearly all the abuse/screaming/chanting etc seems to come from behind both goals.
Also, many spectators seem to spend a lot of time goading opposing fans rather than watching the game.

I didn't mention making anyone feel unsafe or unwelcome so i'm not sure where that came from. Anyway we are going around in circles on this so enough said.
