If we can win this one then i really think we can mount a promotion challenge. Stevenage have been the best side I've seen in L2 this season. They were desperately unlucky in the FA Cup last weekend with an outrageous decision of a penalty given against them. Watch out for Reid who is a fantastic player and in top form at the moment. Totally agree. We're going to be up against the best side in the league today. If we can at least match them today, then we have nothing to fear for the rest of the season.

A hard fought and entirely deserved point that. As goalless draws go I thought that was fairly decent. Two physically strong and uncompromising teams.
Paul Raynor was a tough, argumentative sod as a player and he’s no different on the touchline.

Totally agree. I thought Stevenage edged the first half and Sutton the second. A well earned point for both sides.

Totally agree. I thought Stevenage edged the first half and Sutton the second. A well earned point for both sides. Funnily enough I was thinking the other way round. Whatever, two evenly matched sides in a game of very few chances and the sort of match where you can imagine us conceding in added time, not that long ago. I thought Stevenage were a little on the niggly side.

I thought Stevenage were a little on the niggly side. Stevenage displayed an ability all over the pitch to apply a shove or a block to prevent opponents from controlling the ball. It took Mr Kirk a while to spot the fouls. Nothing wrong with his hearing though, and insults from the visitor's dugout earned the management pair a yellow apiece. It was frustrating watching Sutton pull everybody back when defending all set pieces. The result of that entirely predictable: no break-away counter attacks and half the time clearances out of our area were mopped up by Stevenage and sent back in. Rose was excellent in goal. Far enough ahead of Ward for Ward to be released.

What a sneaky nasty bunch they were. Why don't the officials see what's going on? Why can't the 4th official watch off the ball stuff? I know 2 of their coaching staff got yellow carded but how does that affect a game? Clearly that's how they are where they are.

The good - we made a top two team look ordinary. The bad - I was not entertained…
If all we are about is collecting points, then job done. We had one shot on target - I’m happy to be corrected on that. Plenty of long balls to Donny - that is not his strength - which were then collected by the opposition. David A showed some great party tricks but had no end result and slipped over x3. Will R gets the ball and cuts inside - I know that is what he will do and I suspect so will the oppo.
Criticism? Yes. I pay for a season ticket so reserve the right to comment on what I see. That doesn’t make any player that I mention at fault. They are good players, just maybe in need of (a) a different (or at least varying) system, (b) different studs or (c) the need to vary their attacking lines.

I thought Stevenage were far from ordinary and certainly the best team we have played this season. Both teams cancelled each other out & Carl Piergianni was outstanding for the visitors. For me Joe Kizzi had a superb game for Sutton and maybe as both are defenders this was a huge factor in the score being 0-0. I was certainly entertained !

There can be no doubt Stevenage are the real deal - they’re unbeaten in 12 and have just beaten Villa away! Was always going to be tight and close. Alongside Orient they’ve got great defensive records which goes a long way to explaining where they are. Neither set the world alight going forward but are damn hard to beat. It’s a good point, keeps us moving.

Not unhappy with a draw at home against the side second in the table. I thought they shaded the 90 minutes, but that we were worthy of the point. Defences were very much on top. And that was without Louis John in our back line, Enzio again covering at right back as Joe Kizzi moved across.
I was surprised when, on the hour mark, Steve Evans took off Norris, Reid and Roberts, arguably their three most dangerous attacking players. Perhaps we should take that as a compliment.
I thought the ref (in his first season at this level) had a decent game. And that's not just because he booked Evans and then their assistant manager.😁
Back up to 11th. And only two defeats in ten now.

As a neutral I can assure you this was a very ordinary 90 mins bordering on the boring. Neither keeper had anything meaningful to do. I really expected much more from Stevenage. Evans provided the only entertainment, a predictably angry human being.
