Maybe more need to be like Gareth 👍 Patience can often be a virtue. But there are occasions when the world won't wait patiently for one to catch up. What is happening to us, the professionalisation (in the broadest sense of the word) of the club, is happening right now. L2 category judgements about us, and evaluations of us, are being made by those visiting our ground right now. Not in a little while, but now. Exactly. To some, a dodgy tannoy is of little consequence. To me it is a negative and an easy one to fix. We have a ground that needs love and attention to keep up with our marvellous team (on and off the pitch) and that is happening. Communication appears to be taken seriously by the club which is why I struggle with the continued acceptance of the poor PA. Btw, I’m a he and not fierce at all…

Be patient - I’m sure the club have it in hand. Well, I could be, certainly. I've been in this for the long haul. But are you able to ask that of all of our customers (as backhome2016 quite correctly calls them)? Especially the newer ones. As to if it affects the enjoyment of their match day experience? Or do we just lazily assume they'll be OK with until we get around to it? Because it is egregious. I'm 61. I grew up listening to transistor radio. If the tannoy sounds crap to me, how does it sound to younger ears that are used to big, clear, sounds?

Have you actually spoken to anyone at the club re your concerns? I'm fairly sure that this forum is at the very least glanced at by some who work for the club. It would be pretty weird if they didn't keep an eye on fans' thoughts and feelings. But, no kidding, there really can't be that many people, who spend much time in the ground, who are not aware of the shortcomings of the tannoy system.

The reason why the pa can't be heard on la curva is that the nearest speakers are on or around the disabled area or under the GGL end cover.
Considering that the rec side of the ground will see massive change during the summer and next season I don't see that changing.
I am not fully aware of how this will effect the existing structures nor of the schedule of work but I doubt the installation of new speakers will happen until the new stand is up. Hopefully then a fit for purpose pa will cover the whole of the VBS.

No wish to derail this thread but it will be good to hear something from the club about what the plans are exactly for the new developments (scale etc). I know there’s been references to a pavilion being a part of the development but I’ve seen nothing else about the planned work.

I'll merely observe that it is in the nature of tannoy systems that they can be moved. They don't have to be permanently fixed into either an old or a new construction. In the meantime new fan-base opinions about the quality of our matchday experience are being formed.
That's probably quite enough from me.

Someone mentioned something about moving the home supporters to the away end which seems a little odd for all sorts of reasons but i'm sure we will get clarity shortly.

Can I quickly assure you this IS on the agenda. It is somewhat tied down to what development plans occur on Parkside (and when). These plans themselves can only be revealed once consultations with the Stadium Ground Safety Association, and London Borough of Sutton (as owner and controller of planning) are finalised.
In the meantime a more effective conduit for what are spectator issues, and feedback to the Board, is through Claire Loughlin, the Club's Supporter Liaison Officer, and through the Supporters' Club. Alternatively I am physically at the Club at least 5 days a week. The office door is rarely closed.

Be patient - I’m sure the club have it in hand. I think there may have been an announcement before the game on Saturday but unfortunately I couldn’t hear it.

I heard it on the Rec side 👍 Really. The acoustics under the covered part have been a problem for as long as i can remember so i stepped out nearer to the pitch just to listen to the players who were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I'm guessing that in the covered areas it's fine but out in the open it's probably where the problems are.
Incidentally does anyone remember in the olden days they used to put half time scores up on an A-Z board with a match key in the programme?

On the pitch it is clearly audible.
