I’ll go for FGR last season - our first away game as a league club

Apart from the obvious “biggies”, may I throw in, for varying reasons, All games played outside England and Wales but especially Triestina: 1974 at Spennymoor, the 6-0 at Stortford when we looked unbeatable, the defeat at Yeovil: in those days crowds of 5,000 simply didn’t happen in the Isthmian League

Up until April last year (and omitting Wembley visits generally), the largest assembled Amber-army gathering for an away game might have been at Carrow Rd in January 1989...with the world watching whilst we got roundly humbled, there was something truly memorable about 6000-7000 Sutton fans all together in one corner of the stadium!! A very sad day for more reasons than one.

What a great thread. I've got quite a few that would feature more for personal reasons than football ones and I'll spare you that self-indulgence but otherwise the first ones that spring to mind that haven't already been mentioned (sorry if they have, I've had to read quickly today):
Kngstonian 2-3 Sutton, August 1996. Cracking match. My first away game.
Dorchester Town 5-4 Sutton, November(?) 2006.
Lincoln City 1-3 Sutton, August 2016. Pinching ourselves at seeing newly promoted Sutton playing a league match in such a huge stadium. And what a result.
Cardiff City 3-2 Sutton, August 2021. Crikey. That one sticks in the memory for all sorts of reasons, all of them good (despite the result, which didn't feel like it mattered that much)

What a lovely idea for a thread. There's an obvious one missing from your initial list. AFC Wimbledon 1 Sutton 3, FA Cup 2017. Already down as many peoples' favourite games of all time. Other ones that spring to mind would be the Dartford game in the same cup run, the sheer madness of a 6-3 win for us. One of my favourites too was April 93 at Wycombe in the FAT semi in 93 where we outplayed the hosts and the match was 90 mins end to end with us being the victors. Much more recently would be the penalty drama at Wigan to get us to Wembley. I'm sure there are plenty more. Certainly my favourite. I recall the cold, the peculiar way we set up tactically, the thrill of it, and the fact that a good friend attending the match transferred his allegiance (after consideration) from AFCW to Sutton due to that showing and, specifically, due to the sheer enthusiam of our fans. He now attends over half our fixtures every season. Our travelling fans are one of the club's greatest assets. I don't get to that many away games but I have the deepest respect for all of you that do.

May I add my 3 favourites. 1 and 2 the away trips to Airdrie ( that long red eye coach trip. Both ways. ) and to Dublin ( walking round Dublin in that pouring rain )But being with all our great supporters and team . 3.Wembley.what an occasion.Even with that sad outcome. I could also add the away games over the years with the supporters coach.

Being a relatively new supporter who doesn't attend many away games my list isn't particularly original but I'll go for:
* Maidstone NLS: a fine advert for the sixth-tier of English football and a wonderful atmosphere
* Cambridge FA Cup: we acquitted ourselves well plus a very pleasant weekend in a lovely city
* Wimbledon FA Cup: 'nuf said!
* PJT final: not my first visit to Wembley but the first since it was redeveloped; great day out despite the result

My list - FA Cup Replay away @ AFC Wimbledon - Obvious reasons as mention by everybody else - Bohemians - that was a wild 48 hours in Dublin! - Management & Board dinner in Central Dublin restaurant on the Friday night; the surreal sight of the small pub on the corner of the ground being taken over by Sutton fans from midday and then Rep Ireland v Denmark international in the evening - Airdrie - another surreal moment for both clubs - us playing in Scotland and Airdrie for playing an English team. Evening was messy as well in Central Glasgow - Truro away - Easter Saturday 2016 - memory of Bolarinwa scoring our second to seal the win cue Dos to run the length of the sideline Jose Mourinho style to celebrate with the players as they knew the title was on after Ebbsfleet had lost at home on Good Friday - Bradford City - how are we playing in this stadium and also how hospitable everybody was - Lincoln City - first away win in National League Premier - Northampton - first EFL away win - Portsmouth (PJT) - former Premier League ground, proper old school stadium and the performance from the whole team

One random one (which won't feature on anyone else's list I expect) was an away league trip to Welling in Oct 1988 (one of my first). 1-1 draw, so won't linger too much unless you were there. On that day we had one player ending his career with sutton (Arjan Van Sleidrecht) with a broken leg, Micky Stephens having to be carried off with his knee being cut on an empty coke can on the pitch and Lenny Dennis being sent off after the final whistle. But the thing I remember mostly was the referee. Mr Saunders was his name, and anyone who hears that name will remember what he was missing. He was a referee with no hands, and had stumps for arms. I believe he also reffed a game against Fisher at Salter road the following season (which again I believe was a 1-1 draw).
Funny what sticks with you from away games!

He was actually a thalidomide victim. He started as a linesman then graduated to refereeing.
He was awful that afternoon as I think I probably informed him.

Remember playing “ Borehamwood” in the final or the isthmian league cup at “Purfleet”. We were two nil up with five minutes to go, then suddenly it was two two. It went to pens after extra time, bring on the Garry McCann show. We went two goals down then Garry stepped up and saved every over pen for Mark Costello to score the winner, what a night. Ted shepherd was manager and remember drinking out of the cup with the players after woulds in the bar. Memories hay. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Actually it was a joint management team, Ted and Larry Pritchard.
That final kicked off at 7pm as a number of the Sutton team were off on a end of season holiday in the sun straight after. Unfortunately, Mark Hynes forgot his passport and missed the flight as a result. He joined the rest a couple of days later.

Blowing up the Thames estuary possibly? Anyway it was Bl**dy freezing. As everyone has said, funny what sticks with you from away games...
