Good first half and deserved to be in front. Unfortunately we’ve conceded 2 appalling goals. They’re probably one of the poorer side we’ve played in last couple of months given their injury issues. We looked more like ourselves pressing and playing a higher tempo.
Thought Ali Smith was pretty decent tonight. Surprised we didn’t try chucking on another forward - is Dennis fit?
The referee completely ruined the 2nd half and gave them everything they wanted in terms of how the game was played. Allowed 5 minute breaks for every free kick, loads of time wasted talking to players. We’re there to watch football not you spending the night having a yarn. Loads of fouls from them breaking up play no card. Omar makes a foul in aerial challenge and big ticking off, next one booking. Their forward did exactly same as Omar a few seconds later after 1st ‘ticking off’ free kick, no hint of further action. He is a properly marked man, refs have him down for yellow before the game. How long was added time 2nd half? Seemed barely anything, should have been 10.
The refereeing of aerial challenges has become a farce more generally. At times you can literally wrestle a shirt off someone and throw them to the ground. At other times a little nudge in with the hip gets blown up. It’s infuriating and inconsistent. I’d rather they went back to calling the first foul and stopping all the shirt pulling and wrestling at source.

With regard to the call for more creative midfielders, how will be they be creative when the ball will often be sailing over their heads from the keeper or one of the back four?
Caught out by a quick break yesterday which I had hoped we had improved on defending, after which we were unable to break down the pink wall. Not really sure if the Cobblers decided to rest after going ahead or if they really aren't that good.

With regard to the call for more creative midfielders, how will be they be creative when the ball will often be sailing over their heads from the keeper or one of the back four? Maybe the answer to that depends on whether more creative players would mean we alter the tactic of punting the ball forward? To me that doesn't work because Wilson lacks the necessary strength/first touch for us to retain possession and balls to the wingers to chase on to aren't sufficiently accurate. Also, regarding midfield, Harry's game is based on high energy and I'm afraid age seems to be catching up with him. Enough of my negativity. A much improved performance, reinforced by the return of Ben and Will, the latter - I thought - being (very nearly) back to his best. Notably our dead ball delivery was far better than Saturday with Milson back in the team. Having deservedly equalised just before HT, the goal shortly after the interval (were we fully switched on after the break?) seemed to knock the stuffing out of us somewhat. However, we got back into it and gave it a good go. Interestingly, and unusually, Matt didn't go for substitutions and Goodliffe going off late on seemed to be enforced. Maybe, like us, he was pleased with what he saw. I thought there was a discernible gap in class between the O's and the Cobblers, perhaps partly because of the latter's injuries.

10 years ago we were in National League South - and we have come a long way. 10 Years ago Yeovil were in the Championship after beating Sheff Utd and Brentford in the play offs. Next season they will be in National League South - looking forward to a local derby with Weston Super Mare. We have now played 13 matches out of 14 this season against the seven teams currently in EFL2 promotion or play off places - and we haven't won any of them. We are on the worst current league form in the top 5 leagues in the football pyramid - along with Scunthorpe who have been relegated from the National League and Leicester who are at serious risk of being relegated from the Premier League. The flip side of that is that, considering we're in the top half, without checking, our results against teams outside the top 7 must have have been (very) good! I'd certainly have taken that in the autumn. I think it's pretty clear, over the season as the whole, we're not good enough for a play-off spot and, with the benefit of hindsight, maybe we flattered to deceive before the current poor run.

Tremendous improvement from Saturday. We really didn't deserve to lose. Not sure what the stewards were doing though standing back with things being thrown at Jack. Come and spend a match in the Control Room or put on a hi-vis and then comment from a position of knowledge and understanding rather than ignorance.

I don't know what was said to the team before the game yesterday. But the improvement sertainly showed. There was some really good attacking football played ( a lot better than huff ball) On a personal note I wish the team / squad played like that in earlier games. Certainly a lot of indevour and commitment as is expected. As been said, still lacking in front of goal but good to see Wilson back on the score board. Again as been said the summer break will give the management time to sort out the squad as we will be losing several players that have been on loan. On to Colchester where I hope we can get a result.

I don't think it was for a lack of trying in the earlier games, just that they were far better than Northampton. Northampton were good on the break but didn't over too much until we pressed more trying to get the second equaliser. Their 19 was Connor Wilkinson part 2. No need to goad the fans. Tony's interview with Matt was excellent. Did well to not get Matt into trouble. The look on Matt's face told us all what he thought about Mr Rock. Rock should have booked himself for time wasting! I thought Wilson had his best game for a while. He was lively and looked sharp.

I was very surprised we didn't make any attacking subs.

I know Northampton had a few players out but the fact we controlled most of the game against a second-place team chasing promotion was a good effort. I think we deserved at least a draw out of the game against a side that did look very dangerous coming forward with a lot of pace.
We kept possession better than usual and had a bit more fire and urgency to our play. Disappointing to see another defeat but have to take a bit of heart from the performance. The most important thing is we continue to be able to compete in this league, if we do then the results will eventually come.
Happy for Wilson, for all his efforts he does not score enough goals but he works hard and always keeps defenders honest. It's just a shame he does not put more away.
