Match day and still no thread. Have we had enough, given up on the season and our thoughts elsewhere? Can we score a goal? This, and much more coming up…

I think most would be saying No to all those questions

Having just lost to the sides 4th, 6th and 1st in the table, can we do better against the one in 2nd? At least we haven't previously lost to tonight's opponents.
Northampton have quite a few players out injured, though have still been grinding out the results they need. We should have Ben Goodliffe, and maybe Will Randall, back this evening, so will be closer to full strength. We might find though that this is another game in which Craig Eastmond's absence is keenly felt.

Not a bad time for Donny to knock a goal in.

Self inflicted defeat - Northampton got away with one here. We are not really getting anything going our way and I don't think we'll finish in the top half now . We really need creative midfield players for next season. Think Rob was poor defensively and was definitely at fault for the goal

We played better to night than Saturday, but one’s a gain our final ball let’s us down. I mean we get into good positions but then it brakes down. Good to see Wilson get a goal, long over due but still good for him and hopefully give him confidence. It’s about seeing the season out now, then the work begins for Matt. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

No one can fault our commitment tonight and against a lesser side we would have won tonight. As others have said, if we want to go up a level we need more talent in the midfield. Unfortunately those players won’t come cheap. If we play to that level in the remaining three games I will be pleased.

Tremendous improvement from Saturday. We really didn't deserve to lose.
Not sure what the stewards were doing though standing back with things being thrown at Jack.

10 years ago we were in National League South - and we have come a long way. 10 Years ago Yeovil were in the Championship after beating Sheff Utd and Brentford in the play offs. Next season they will be in National League South - looking forward to a local derby with Weston Super Mare.
We have now played 13 matches out of 14 this season against the seven teams currently in EFL2 promotion or play off places - and we haven't won any of them.
We are on the worst current league form in the top 5 leagues in the football pyramid - along with Scunthorpe who have been relegated from the National League and Leicester who are at serious risk of being relegated from the Premier League.

Apart from the scoreline, we were far the far better side tonight, a goal finally for Donny, one back off the post and goal chalked out for offside. Our overal perfomance was very good, but final ball and final third decisions let us down.
As for Northampton, TBH I would rather be us, without significant additions to that squad they will be cut up for arse rag in lge1, very luck to get anything out of tonights match.

Much better from us in attack this evening, and, had our defence not switched off at crucial moments, we'd probably have won. Ali was unlucky early on with a thunderbolt that struck a post, then Donovan bagged his first goal since scoring against the same opponents last October; he's found the net in three of our four games against the Cobblers.
I thought Harry had a great first half against one of his former clubs, though he faded somewhat in an increasingly scrappy second period.
Unfortunately we failed to deal with the long throw that led to their opening goal, while our defence was all at sea when they broke to score their second.
That's four consecutive defeats now and no win in eight, our worst run since we reached League Two. Thankfully the poor results are affordable, but I'm sure the players will want to chalk up at least one more win before the season expires. They have three opportunities to do that.
