I would have thought they signed more than a 1 year contract so they won't be released but may of course be transferred for a fee if that's what the parties want. You really need to read my posts jr! I hadn't gone down that far as I was reading them in order!

I, for one, would like to see us go old school and not announce any signings until the first friendly, where loads of random players on trial play.

Would imagine both still contracted. Certainly Ajiboye would be. If he leaves it will be for a fee and he’ll have several suitors. You're correct. Both are contracted to their respective parent clubs until Summer 2025. Unless there is a mutual termination, both will command a significant fee in the transfer market with 2 years left on their contracts. Was David A not sold for an undisclosed fee? It could be a case that we have not even received any or much money for him yet, thus opening the door for negotiation. At least for a loan extension?

Although it was an undisclosed fee it is recorded as our record transfer fee received. I think it was previously £100k so must be more than that.

That would only be the case if a) the fee hadn't been paid b) we'd want him back and c) he wanted to come back here. That's a hell of a lot of ifs

Our record fee received would have been for Efan, with add ons I think it came to about 180k , so I think it may be wishful thinking to assume David set a new record (I had retired by then so I don’t know)

Wow www.suttonunited.net/news/2023/may/squad-update/That's rather brutal and some surprises in there. But remember the "released" list isn't necessarily "who Matt wanted to get rid of" but it may well be players who didn't want to stay for a variety of reasons.

Just read the list. What a shock. I think we wish all on the list all the best and thank them for their efforts. Yes ,a big shake up to come. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of months.

The percentage of our goals from last year that Bugiel, Rowe, Randall, Ajiboye and Wilson must account for must be very very high. Recruitment has to be much improved

Not really surprised at any of those. Would think Randall and Bugiel had indicated they were off. They’ve played a huge part in getting us to and keeping us at this level. The goals are more than replaceable. The defensive side that Bugiel brings will be hard to find with someone else in that position. It was key to our system. Certainly recruiting the right people and whether we can play the same way without him is going to determine how we go next season. Will be interesting where they end up.
As ever thanks to all for their services. A good bunch.

The one I'm surprised about is Coby. We must have another good centre back in mind. And what if someone comes in with offers we can't turn down for Goodliffe for example.

Some surprises on that list especially Omar. Lovatt did a good job for us and i thought he may have overtaken Harry in the pecking order. Coby was always a reliable defender . I await Matt's comments to see how he feels the way forward will go. We have released our two academy graduates i note.
