Considering how pessimistic some posters have been I'd be surprised if they're anxious for the new season to come round soon. You're assuming we'll still be pessimistic on 5th August - who knows. Some of us want something to happen as so many other clubs are being very active. All we crave is reassurance from someone in the know . Yes, I am assuming that. The way the mood's been shaping up, I'd put money on it.

I find it difficult to put any faith in Kasimu until I have seen him play at our level after all he has not played since Jan .

Obviously those numbers don't really mean anything. However as Alli and Enzio are almost definitely leaving I'd replace them with Hart and Kasimu - obviously not in the same positions but I don't think that looks like a bad starting 11. Kasimu is more of a center forward type player than a winger, unless I am mistaken. Personally I am not too bothered about upfront. Kasimu could prove to be a decent signing and will be like a new signing, Topi could still prove to be decent, Kouassi will only get better and i would like to see Angol with a pre season under his belt here. Add another experienced striker and I dont think we will be much worse off than last year given its not as if anyone was prolific up front anyway. Presuming Smith goes then he will need replacing with someone solid, and with Enzio likely to go then we are going to need 3 or 4 new wingers which I think will be the main area of concern for me. Regarding first team players, and providing we do not lose any more than Smith and Enzio, I am speculating (sniggers) that we are likely to see about 6 or 7 competitive players incoming. Which could include anyone from our academy who is rated. If Barden comes back to full fitness he will also be handy to have around again. Although getting over such an injury wont be easy. Dear God, man, you appear to be aware that we do need to acquire new players, in some areas, without having fallen into either an impatient panic or deep gloom. Are you sure?

We have a good management and system in place and have done for a while now. While I am under no illusions that next season might see it tested to the max, I still have faith in them.

Make no mistake Matt faces one of the most difficult tasks I have seen in football, to replace a dozen players in a matter of weeks without being able to just buy what he needs, and keep the club in EL2 against the likes of Wrexham, and Notts County coming up. I reserve judgement, but if he pulls it off then he himself may fnd he is a target for clubs further up the line, I understand that Merlin turned the job down.

OS, really, you wanted a new forward line. A new attack. We didn't score enough goals. This a matter that you called consistently through out much of last season, and this a matter that Matt clearly agrees with and is acting on. Silver lining? Just a little one? What is it with so many people and Wrexham, already? They've got a decent budget. But they're not bloody Citeh.

Yes I wanted a few changes, guess I will have to change my definition of a 'few' The problem that teams like Wrexham cause is that they up the prices for everyone, its a knock on effect.

But, surely, upping the goals isn't (and can't be) just a matter of swapping the front two. Football hasn't worked like that for decades. Truth to tell, neither Will nor Ali chipped in with that many goals, last season. I recall it as a particular dropping off for Ali, although I may need to stand corrected on that point.

I thought we had too many wingers last season.

The internet says average wages for players in April 2023 before the likes of Wrexham and not taking into account massive increases in transfer fees in the premiership.

I understand Tobi Ogundega's injury sustained in training towards end of last season is now likely to keep him out until well into the new season, a blow for a promising young player and for the club as will slow his progress towards a first team berth.

Do we know will John Barden be fit for the start of the season- I think he had started some light running and gym work in May.?
