If we had a game tomorrow (which we don't), assuming that everyone is fit (which we know isn't the case) and that no one else has left (we know that there are 'rumours' about Ali and Enzio) and no one new has arrived (we haven't heard anything yet), then I reckon our matchday team/squad would look a bit like this:
1. Rose
2. Kizzi
3. Milsom
4. Eastmond
5. Goodliffe
6. John
7. Boldewijn
8. Smith
9. Kouassi
10. Angol
11. Beautyman
12. House
13. Barden
14. Hart
15. Ogundega
16. Dundas
17. Kasimu
18. Fadahunsi
Wonder how similar/different this will look for our first league game of the season?

As I said be for, Matt did not do an interview until the first day off training last season, so all this speculation is not getting us anywhere. We should just wait and see what Matt has to say about things that are happening and going to happen.⚽️⚽️⚽️

Hasn’t there been a similar thread like this before?! I think the vast majority of fans are happy to leave it until Matt or the club make an official announcement. Guessing and speculation is getting boring now.

I think the vast majority of fans are happy to leave it until Matt or the club make an official announcement. Kind of learning from last year that there won’t be an announcement regarding incomings until 1st July (the day after players contracts expire) - seems to be the way Sutton operate. We should just enjoy the close season.

It seems to me that one of the points of a board like this is to speculate on what might or might not happen re: our team and players. If people aren't interested in doing this - fair enough - don't read it or join in. I personally have no interest in reading/commenting on the threads on the new third kit or the shirt auction - so I don't read them - but I have no problem with others having an interest in these. In my view (just a personal opinion) the most boring posts on this board are those telling people like me we shouldn't speculate and we should just wait for Matt to make an announcement.

Dunno how old you are Dave but in my youth and early adult years, I used to hate the close season. No football anywhere, the local papers full of local cricket, tennis etc. Back then, the close season was much longer and there was no social media either.
But by the age of 30, I learned to enjoy the summer. And even more so now. The Ashes, Wimbledon even a couple of England football matches coming up.
So, I switch off from Sutton, particularly in June. There's plenty of other stuff to be interested by and use as a recharge of the old batteries before the friendly matches start.
All I can say is you must be incredibly bored to feel the need to start a second thread based on who or who might not be at the club next season. It's out of our hands and in some respects possibly the club's too.
But you carry on. Each and everyone to their own. But for me, it just ain't great for the soul.

You have brought back memories for me from circa May 1962 when I realized for the first time that soccer was not a 52 weeks a year experience. This was reinforced by the Football Pools suddenly showing games between Wolloomoolloo and Surrey Hills, Cabramatta and Dandenong Rovers, and Baulkham Hills and Paramatta etc. Back then Australian soccer was a very alien concept for a primary school lad. Whilst initially somewhat depressed I remember soon being more than cheered up by for example Roger Taylor at Wimbledon and later on by Derek Underwood bowling the Aussies out in the final session on a rain affected wicket.
(Not to mention being able to spend more time one's Airfix models - e.g. the Lancaster bomber or the Sutherland Flying boat - be great to have them and others remastered would it not.)

Considering how pessimistic some posters have been I'd be surprised if they're anxious for the new season to come round soon.

Decades ago I used to do the football pools as part of a syndicate and we even continued with it in the summer when they had the Australian fixtures on the coupons. The Australian scores were generally slightly easier to predict because there were less shock results back then. I imagine it’s a lot more competitive now though. I remember there was a Chelsea football club that used to play in one of the lower Victorian leagues with teams that sounded quite exotic to me like Ballarat and North Geelong.

Some of us want something to happen as so many other clubs are being very active. All we crave is reassurance from someone in the know .

However as Alli and Enzio are almost definitely leaving I'd replace them with Hart and Kasimu - obviously not in the same positions but I don't think that looks like a bad starting 11.

However as Alli and Enzio are almost definitely leaving I'd replace them with Hart and Kasimu - obviously not in the same positions but I don't think that looks like a bad starting 11. Kasimu is more of a center forward type player than a winger, unless I am mistaken. Personally I am not too bothered about upfront. Kasimu could prove to be a decent signing and will be like a new signing, Topi could still prove to be decent, Kouassi will only get better and i would like to see Angol with a pre season under his belt here. Add another experienced striker and I dont think we will be much worse off than last year given its not as if anyone was prolific up front anyway. Presuming Smith goes then he will need replacing with someone solid, and with Enzio likely to go then we are going to need 3 or 4 new wingers which I think will be the main area of concern for me. Regarding first team players, and providing we do not lose any more than Smith and Enzio, I am speculating (sniggers) that we are likely to see about 6 or 7 competitive players incoming. Which could include anyone from our academy who is rated. If Barden comes back to full fitness he will also be handy to have around again. Although getting over such an injury wont be easy.
