He must be out of contract like Smith.

Matt's body language, speaks volumes, this squad is still nowhere near ready for ELF football.

Based on my understanding of what Matt has said in various interviews, he decided towards the end of last season that he needed to freshen up the squad - and that he would do this by releasing half the squad. Watching Sutton's very poor form at the end of last season, it is hard to disagree with that view - even if you may not 100% agree with all of his choices as to who to keep/release. Having made that decision, he must have realised that it would take time to recruit all the replacements that he needed and that it would take time for all the players to gel as a new team. Add to this, the loss of players that he did not want to lose (Ali, Enzio and possibly Kylian), injuries to key players (including all the main centre backs) and the fact that some of the potentially best loan signings will not be released by their parent clubs until towards the end of the window (as their clubs will want to take a look at them in pre-season to decide whether they want to keep them for themselves) then it is hardly surprising that Matt came across as a man feeling the pressure during the post match interview. In my view, if Matt had not made the bold decision he made to freshen things up in a big way, we would have definitely seriously struggled this season. We may still struggle this season - it is quite a big 'gamble' that Matt has taken - but in my view, a necessary one. Let's all hope that the missing pieces fall into place over the next couple of weeks and we have a team ready to fire on all cylinders when faced with what is likely to be a very tough challenge from Notts County.

Matt's body language, speaks volumes, this squad is still nowhere near ready for ELF football. Is that because he's yet to sign Will Ferrell?
