A pretty flat performance Didn’t go last night but any impact from playing up at Barrow with 10 men for 70odd minutes at the weekend? Surely got to take its toll with the travelling added in too.

We have a much better team than last season and i am very optimistic that we can achieve at least a play off place if we can keep 11 players on the pitch. Reassuring.. it’s a massively changed squad this season, this coupled with the tough opening few fixtures will cause an inconsistent start to the season. Hopefully we can get points out of the next two games!

Hopefully we can get points out of the next two games! We're still in a better place than this time last season. At this point we drew with a side that finished 15th, and lost to sides that finished 13th and 18th, and were already out of one cup competition. This season we've lost against sides predicted to be in the top half, and beaten a side predicted for automatic promotion, and we're still in the cup competition.

Well reminiscent of 1-0 to the Arsenal!
I don't think overall we were bad. Their only goal came from a defensive mistake. And they had to scramble a couple of our efforts off the line. Obviously very good defensively and as I said before the gae it's obvious that their forwards are not that great.
Time added if we were playing last season would not have been unreasonable. However I thought they were supposed to be adding time for stoppages, goal celebrations, substitutions and time wasting. We were definitely short changed time wise although I doubt we would have scored even then.

Under any rule set the added time in both halves was insufficient. It’s been an absolute shambles so far. It must have taken three minutes to remove the flair! The flair was missing from the start. I wondered if I had dreamt the Notts Co game. You know what repeating failed actions hoping for a different result is - but here we were, proving it again. Long balls up to the Shortest forward we have fielded for some years. Not as obvious but another case is using Patrick as the target for throw-ins up the touchline. That type of throw in isn't very productive anyway - except when it results in another throw further forward, rinse and repeat, until the throw in is within reach of the 18 yard box. Switch to a lob into the mixer and hope. What is the receiver of the up-the-line throw supposed to do with it? He will have an opponent pushing at his back, another closing from the side to prevent a pass on the ground inside. The options are so limited the least talented midfield or forward player should be the target leaving Patrick a few yards away in case the ball can be played to him and he can sprint away with it towards goal.

I think you are being a bit harsh, we have scored 8 in 4 matches, a very tight offside vs a side who not conceeded any, and one last night cleared off the line. I have been moaning for ages about our front play, but it already looks much better this season without further additions.

Fascinated to know when you plan to take over from the most successful manager in the club's history considering your 100% success rate in telling everybody what we did wrong after the event whilst failing to comment whenever anything goes well....

You either have a short memory or missed my post after the Notts Co match congratulating Matt & the team for: Taking U's to the highest league position in their history: A staggering turn around in one week from the pre-season shambles to that outstanding performance. The purpose of a fans forum is to comment on the experience, on and off the pitch. Try going to the bar post match and asking anybody "What did you think of that?" and see how many say 'I have no opinion' or 'I am not the manager, so I am not qualified to say.'

TBH, IMO forums exist for us all to become armchair, players, managers, referees, directors etc. It is our job to tell them all where they are going wrong, and to offer advice on how they may fix the issue, as well as saying we could have done it so much better Long may it continue
