Another great away night in a cup tie. Didn't recognise the ground from my last visit there in the trophy. I'm guessing that previously we were standing in a spot where that big imposing stand is which was closed last night. Everyone played their part and what difference having Smith & O'Brien up front especially in the first half. Jackson is a hell of a fullback & N'Guessan didn't look out of place despite the step up. This is going to be a very interesting season despite where we are in the league at present.

Agreed, a much improved performance all round.😀 Matt freshened up the side with five changes from last Saturday's starting XI, and two of those brought in, the available-again Harry Smith and Aiden O'Brien, were involved in the game's only goal, the former heading on and the latter finishing. Another, Ryan Jackson, showed what an astute signing he is, and he must be set to displace Joe Kizzi as our first-choice right back.
And yes, for that Trophy match thirty years ago, we stood on terracing now replaced by the main stand (not in use last night).
Sutton are now in the curious position of having beaten two League One sides this season but only one from League Two. That imbalance needs to be rectified at the earliest opportunity! In the meantime, we await the draw for the third round.

Football is a funny game isn't it? We go from the depths of despair in the last 20 mins on Saturday to this stonking performance. A wonderful team performance against a decent side, and from what I could work out mostly their first team too. Not a poor performance out there, but my word Jackson. Keep him fit and in form and he could well end up being the signing of the season. Great stuff from O'Brien throughout the first half (not just the goal), and I thought Clay and Goodliffe were especially good too. But a huge shout out to the vocal support. Didn't stop all night, and were hugely positive throughout. All the chants were pro Sutton!
It's most likely that after tonight's game we'll be the lowest ranked side left in the competition (we've been there before), and already in the hat tonight are few ghosts from cups past - Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Peterborough, Norwich and Cardiff; bearing in mind both matches in the competition so far have also been putting to rest ghosts from cups past, it would fit the pattern if we drew one of them, And in terms of sides we've faced in EFL league competition, there are not that many - Port Vale, Salford, Exeter, Mansfield, Bradford and then possibly Harrogate, Doncaster and AFC Wimbledon if they progress. So if they all get through we only have a 1 in 4 chance of getting one of those, which is the same chance of drawing one of the clubs entering the competition in Round 3 from the PL. There will however be 18 PL sides in the draw. The only ones missing will be the losers of the Forest/Burnley game and Spurs.

Please can we try to generate somewhere near the same vocal support at home starting on Saturday against Forest Green as the vocal support tonight was unreal! Agreed, I can't really talk a s I am not one to sing much nowadays, but there are obviously many who do. But our home noise level has been awful, credit to Matt for not criticising this much , probably out of respect I imagine. Admittedly there has not been much to sing about with the latest form, but it can help the team. Admittedly the home ends do not seem to help acoustically as much as the new away end, but still.

What a great performance and result. Matt must have given the squad a right talking to after Saturday. All 11 plus the subs were outstanding. If that sort of performance is repeated into the league games, then I don't think that we will have problems. ( Of course taking in consideration of injuries that may arise)

Sadly it will never happen at Sutton, the acoustics won’t allow it. The only area that can generate good vocal support is the away end.

One of my ( our ) rare away trips, and as we left early, took in Marlow first ( which was the first time I'd been there since an FA Cup tie there a long time ago ( which we lost 1-0 )
Adams Park did seem different, as quite a few have posted , but seeing as it was 30 years since the last visit, that would be expected
Well done to all the players "on the pitch" yesterday, you did the Club proud.....Great to see Harry Smith back leading the attack.

A fair chunk of our core away support stand in their favourite spots and don’t ‘sing’ at home. As is their prerogative of course. I stand in a part of the ground at home that doesn’t sing but would do away (am sure many others similar). It’s possible to create an atmosphere but it requires an effort. Also will hopefully naturally happen as crowds increase and more people get hooked rather than be there to just take in/enjoy a game.

Is tonight’s draw still north/south (or as close as possible) or a completely open draw?

fantastic result last night!
definitely the potential now for a really big cup tie home or away.
if it is a home tie then hopefully now the ticketing process has moved more online we can avoid the huge queues that we had back in 2017 for the famous FA Cup run!

A feature of the goals we have conceded so far was the number of headed goals where the scorer was not marked. These came from looping crosses into the box when the Sutton defenders were positioned to cut out a flat trajectory. That was cured at Wycombe. We allowed no free headers - if we were not getting a head to the ball first at least we were contesting hard enough to prevent an attacker getting the contact he wanted.

I may have missed it. But what time is the draw? It's after the live game (which is Doncaster v Everton) so from around 1015 tonight (later if there are penalties)
