After 17 days in hospital which ended on Saturday 26th August would like to thank all the members/supporters who have enquired about me and for the signed card from you and the players much appreciated Also a thank you to everyone who visited me in ward A3 during my stay in St Helier hospital and a thank you to the doctors and nurses who cared for me. Some brief info from my discharge report the left neck femur fracture has been repaired with inframedullary nail and plate. Also have low calcium secondary to severe vitamin D deficiency. Now back home in GGL with the care package plan in place with four carers a day, district nurse once a day for injection to stop blood clots and pyscho started last week with excerises using my Zimmer frame working up to using crutches and stickes over a period of time quite painful to do so have extra pain relief. Not allowed to use my stairs at home unless carers around who take me up and down stairs morning and night. During the day remain downstairs and can use Zimmer frame to get about with in dining room, hall and kitchen with checks to ensure okay when carers, district nurs and pyscho about. Eternally grateful to everyone who helps and do miss seeing you. Thank you. John p.

Looks like a long road back John, but you seem to have the right attitude and support to get you along it. Hope to see you back at GGL later in the season.
Your experience is a reminder to all of us, especially those of a 'certain age', that we're only an unfortunate slip away from an injury with far-reaching consequences.
