Where to start!? I'd say we're a wonderful club with some really lovely decent fans with a small ground which is welcoming, historic and friendly, a board most clubs would die for and a manager totally passionate and committed. You won't find many other league clubs where you can see the players in the bar after and who always have time for a chat or a selfie. I'm sure others can add to this, but as a Sutton fan of nearly 40 years, once I started I couldn't stop and there are so many familiar faces you see week in week out. And they become like family to many. I highly recommend it! Ticket prices and info here - www.suttonunited.net/tickets/stadiumticket-information/

Assume you are local and wouldn't have been able to get to Old Trafford very often so watching football live in awful conditions is remarkably therapeutic.....you tend to ponder all major life decisions that lead you to this point!
It is really hard to quantify, it isn't the actual football most of the time. Its feeling you are part of something, you won't walk in and find your best mates by 3:05 on your first visit but you will start seeing the same people then saying hi and then as Andy says wonder what happened to decades.
Enjoy it, try different parts of the ground (you can wander during the match) and you will start to feel like you belong very quickly.

My TRUE club is Huddersfield Town and it always will be. However, I’m getting older and driving 450 miles for a home game needs to be limited to half a dozen games or so per season now.
I’ve lived in Surrey since 1981 and attended games at GGL ever since, often just once or twice a season, sometimes more, sometimes none, and have had a ST since the club entered L2.
One constant I’ve ALWAYS recognised with Sutton United is they stand for decency and integrity. I don’t think you’ll find a friendlier club. Football should be more than just about success and money.
I think they’re a great club to follow.

Querty02 - it isn't either / or. Like Terrier above, I have never given up supporting my other club, Aston Villa. In the 1970s I started the London Lions, but I was brought up 3 miles from GGL and if Villa weren't playing I would support the U's. Now I have a season ticket at GGL but not at Villa. What killed the EPL for me is the ko times anywhere from Friday night to Monday night, OK if you live in Brum but not 130 miles away. And the putting back of evening ko from 7.30. It was just possible after a night game to get the 'Last train to London' {ELO} dash to Waterloo for the last train to Farnham. Now it would be drive or come home on the milk train. You will find Saturdays at 3pm and Tuesdays at 7.45 such a help. And as everyone else has said, it is friendly - you will soon make some at Sutton!

What a lovely thread. Here my two penneth off the top of my head from someone now 6 years in:
On a practical note it's close and is pretty good bang for buck for entertainment in 2023 (especially with a yoof in tow)
The ground. A patchwork hotchpotch of stands and bars, where you can walk through the wrong door and find yerself in the changing rooms. Anyone who ridicules our ground doesn't get football (not to playdown the amount of work done to get it in the shape it is)
The vibe: you're a welcoming, self-effacing, funny, (mostly) knowledgeable bunch who know how to appreciate the good times (cos you've seen enuff bad times). And the dickhead ratio is very low (stick that on your promotional posters)
One club spirit: So many toxic clubs out there. The spirit that runs through the whole club is genuinely impressive. I'd also throw in here accessibility of those who run it, manage it and play for it.
Moments: We've had some amazing moments on the pitch. When we've been good we've been very good.
Small club/tinpot: All those fans / teams raging cos they can't believe they've been dun over by lil' old Sutton. Hugely satisfying.
