Thought I'd start one as I've not done one this season, and maybe that will change our luck

Cold crumb of comfort is that they've let in 10 of their 14 goals this season away. Otherwise a 0-0 would be a cracking result for us. A clean sheet would be a massive confidence boost if we can't chalk up a win.

Just a brief travel note about tomorrow as there is a revised Thameslink service, running every half hour on the Wimbledon side of the loop only. If you're coming from anywhere between Mitcham Junction and Carshalton you need to get a Southern service and then change at Sutton.

I saw a pair of MK Dons scouts in the stand for the Villa match. What on earth they made of that I don't know, except that if they are ahead towards the end it would be unwise to take all three of their likely scorers off and try to park the bus.
Sutton's late subs on, Patrick and Kasimu really looked up for it in contrast to the players they replaced.

I noticed something in that game I hadn't been looking for. I was told to watch the Villa 58 Tommi O'Reilly who they think will become an EPL midfielder in a few years. He had the freedom of the centre circle to himself at times where he could recycle the ball, and of course that meant Sutton's midfield was not challenging. We all know Easty is a big loss from that unit, but if we don't have one man who can replace him then we need two men, and sacrifice a forward. Our defence has been poor but I think much of that stems from allowing opponents to dominate the midfield then play the pass to our less-defended wing.

Noteable improvements, peticuarly not collapsing after conceding even after some sustained pressure. More football and less hopeful hoofs. They are a good side so we have a good point. Though because of the position we are in, still a disappointing result.

We could have nicked it. Keep working guys, shades of hope today, keep working hard and we shall see.

Can't honestly say I'm not disappointed we didn't keep all 3 points, but that was a much, much, MUCH better performance.

I will add that Nguessan is starting to find his feet in this league. Now Eastmond is back it will be interesting which two he puts in midfield.

Not often I’m wrong when predicting a 5 match winning run in the league but I’ll have to hold my hands up.

At least we’re off 3 points. 2 tough games ahead this week against sides going well. Hopefully we can take another step forward.

I was going to say yes but as it as only a draw I would suggest a probationary period ?

I think it was N’Guessan’s best game for the team. Matt has put a lot of faith in him up to now I can’t see him being left out any time soon. I believe it will be an Eastmond N’Guessan midfield for the majority of the games.
