Hopefully not much rain this week as Crystal Palace Academy are playing on Wednesday night, Sutton home on Saturday, Crystal Palace home on Sunday and then Crystal Palace Acadarmy home again on Monday night.
The pitch too me is looking quite tired in places including the sand on Saturday.

Much better to have ripped up turf pitches than 3G snooker table type pitches, when in the English league...

Saw the pitch today while undoubtly the surface is of a much higher quality the amount of mud patches for me brought back memories of the 70's and 80's

And this is the pitch as it was just before tonights Palace U21s: View Attachment[/quoteeco] Sorry to say not much chance of recovery this time of year. Need to be very lucky with the weather for the next few months. No significant growth likely until the Spring.

It's a shame we have a need to share it with these other clubs.

More bad news for the pitch Crystal Palace women draw at home in fa cup 4th round due to be played same w/e as our home match against barrow. At least our ladies seem to have an away fixture.

It's sad to see the pitch in its current state after serving us so well in its first two years.
When it was first installed, it was said that it would be capable of hosting more matches than a traditional, grass pitch although, of course, far fewer than the artificial one it replaced. This would suggest that the (very small) number of (additional) games being played on it this season, if that is the case, is an insignificant factor and perhaps its relaying over the summer IIRC and the amount of rain (much more than usual) are more important.

People seem to ignore the fact we're not a possession based team. A poor pitch may actually be an advantage as most teams like to play it around nowadays.
I'd rather GGL was a muddy sandy fortress than a pristine pitch where we keep getting turned over.
