Sad to see people lose their job but maybe it’s time for the head coach, strength and fitness coach, full time physio and nutritionist to go. If we’re stuck with the existing squad maybe increase the win bonus as an incentive. At least if/when we go down we will have saved some money. Should we be expecting a statement from the board supporting the management team soon? You know nothing about footballers if you think that's a good idea to get rid of all the back room staff - we'd have no players fit and getting back from injuries would take even longer

Should we be expecting a statement from the club supporting the management team soon? So what you're asking for is to change the employment contract of every player? Each player will then get the choice to renew their contract or not. I get the feeling that won't work, unless you think some brown enevlopes should be used by a football league club.

I don’t think increasing a bonus would need a change in contract. I’m trying to make the point that maybe they need more of an incentive to work for a win. If we don’t win the club would keep the money. I get an annual bonus dependent upon my own and company performance. I do not know what it will be or even if I will get it.
The strength and conditioning has made little difference if we look tired and again have a long list of injuries a significant number picked up in training. We were in a similar position with injuries without a full time physio.
You cut your cloth to suit your means. If all this investment is having no impact why not divert the money elsewhere?. The full time physio maybe worth keeping but the others not.

Yes it would. Clubs can’t just make unilateral changes. Even bonus payments must be written into contracts. This often causes issues when clubs have unexpected cup runs.
And a fully qualified physio is mandatory.

Do you have to specify how much the bonus is or just that a win bonus will be paid?

From memory it has to be exact, but that could be as a percentage of salary or something else. You can’t just say ‘a bonus’.

I fully accept my memory is shocking but I'm pretty sure if there are any it won't be a significant amount.

Mine too but certainly Mellor and Rose. Didn’t Arnold pick up his back injury in training and was Milsom’s also between matches? I also think Hart’s first injury this season. If you count the pre match warm up John and I think one other this season.
Someone will no doubt correct me if I’m wrong.

Hearing a few will be offloaded in January including Patrick Mellor Angol Tope
Also got a fight on our hands to keep smith. Heard FGR have put a substantial offer in to the club.
Thats from my source within the club today

Very short sighted of we let Smith go, especially to another candidate for the drop.

Thats from my source within the club today Making those for the chop next month known in advance is really going to help team morale , if there is any left that is ! I have wondered several times during the course of today what the mood was like in the training camp after the drumming on Saturday . One would hope one of we must ensure this does not ever happen again but from the reports of players arguing with Matt I rather doubt it unfortunately .

To be fair Smith is having a good season whilst most of what is going on around him is falling to pieces. Who could blame him if a team came in for him who represented a better opportunity to maintain league status than he can with us. I would suggest it is probably likely that he will attract offers and will be interested in accepting them. He’s a professional and again who gould blame him

Fair few of the academy players have been out on loan this season, Cameron Sullivan (who was on the bench for the Charlton game last month) is currently at Sholing under Dos. Good experience for the younger players.
