I've now heard that it's 300+. Should make some noise!

For anyone travelling to Plymouth by train, be aware that services are disrupted because of flooding on some lines. The situation may have improved by tomorrow, but I'd advise getting to Paddington early!

This will be our 5th match with a caretaker manager, should we spring a surprise with a win or a draw, will the board stick with the situation? A draw potentially means the pitch could be played on the 13,14,16,and 17th of Jan.

Not for me to say but I hope that the Board won't be unduly swayed by the performances and results of just five matches, during which there's often a "new manager bounce" anyway. After all, it took far, far longer to decide to relieve Matt of his duties. Should they consider Jason is best suited to the role out of all the applicants, taking other things into consideration, that's of course an entirely different matter.

I don't think a "new manager bounce" is especially applicable when that new manager has been the assistant manager for the last 4 seasons. If he had won all 3 games over the holiday period, and then pulled off a shock victory tomorrow then I don't think there would be any argument in appointing him at least for the rest of the season, if not beyond. And really the vast majority of us would be happy with that decision. The game for me that probably ruined that was New Years Day, which I still think we should have won. But then again I still don't think that knocks Jason out of the equation, if he wants the job. We have no clue who the other candidates are, and if it's some names who have not really performed even at a lower level, then I don't think there is any "unduly swaying" happening.

The club is doing remarkably well in avoiding any candidate names being linked or rumoured whatsoever! My personal opinion - someone else busy with the FA Cup this weekend - Tommy Widdrington at Aldershot Town?

Nice piece on ITV early evening news tonight re tomorrow’s game they showed the training ground and had input from Tope and Joe Kizzi. A brief history was made and a comment on the forthcoming game was given by Jason. All in all a very favourable presentation of the club was broadcast.

So with today being our 6th ever R3 tie, there must be a smallish band of U’s supporters who have seen the previous 5 ties at this round of the Cup.

Without settling for anything, a draw would be a fantastic result for us.
Bumped into AB earlier, he says we've sold around 400.

A much stronger line up from Plymouth than most of them expected. Feel acquitted ourselves well.... But what did you think? Give me your thoughts and player ratings below ratings.suttonpodcast.com/240106

Nothing to be ashamed of there. A solid and spirited performance and we can now concentrate on the real prize. Good news as no sendings off, no injuries (I think), and thirty minutes from the captain. Up the U's!!!

Much to be encouraged about in that performance. After a slightly subdued first half, when Plymouth let us off by scoring just one rather scruffy goal, we took the game to them in the second period; after Lee Angol's calmly taken equaliser, we were the better side, Argyle's penalty coming somewhat against the run of play. We were still very much in the game until Whittaker got their third just into stoppage time.
It was great to see Craig Eastmond come on as a second-half substitute, and even Hisham Kasimu made it on to the pitch for a very late cameo.
We just need now to build on that display in the remaining league games. Over to you, Mr Morison...

More than a decent performance, could have easily walked away with a replay, and it was on a knife edge into added time. No sign of the U's side that lost 8-0 at Stockport just a few weeks ago. I thought Jason got the tactics spot on, and we missed Dion who I think could have made the difference.
Great to see the mighty Eastie back, and TBH a side that can go to a good championship side and do as well as that shouldn't really be getting relegated from EFL2. The other results today from Lge2 didn't do anything to damage our survival hopes either.
Dissapointed to be out of the cup, but in the league the door really is open for us.
