A break from league matters this weekend as we head down to Devon and a tough looking assignment against a Plymouth side competing back in the second tier of English football for the first time in around 14 years.
The tie represents a SIXTH ever at the Round Three stage of the FA Cup for Sutton (previously Hillingdon Borough (1970), Middlesbrough (1988), Coventry (1989), Notts County (1993), AFC Wimbledon (2017)).
Plymouth will be without one of their better performers this season - Finn Azaz (on loan from Villa) who’s finalising a move to Middlesbrough - those with a good memory might remember Azaz pulling strings in Newports midfield during our first season in the league. Numerous other players to watch including Ryan Hardie (ex- Rangers), Bali Mumba and their main goal-getter this season Morgan Whittaker.
No real expectations from me for this one - just looking forward to a good day out and if we somehow get a replay or better still a sneaky win then fantastic.

I watched their game against Watford (3-3) and Argyle were very sharp up front, Whittaker will be a handful for our defence. Their defense, on the other hand, didn't look that solid...

Nobody seriously expects us to win this one, and even a draw would be a shock result. Just go along for the experience. What's important is that the team emerges with some pride intact. (We really don't want another 8-0 defeat - and I don't believe this will be.)

For 123 years a third round tie would have been something of a landmark occasion, as mentioned only our 6th appearance. And we have only lost once in the first tie (and away to Middlesbrough in the replay was arguably our greatest performance ever). So let’s enjoy the day and look forward to the 4th Round draw ……

£105,000? What if we lose. Surely we get a cut of the gate money.

I thoroughly intend to enjoy the day. Hard to believe it's only the 6th time we've been in it.
No expectations. No pressure. Just give it our best shot, which I have no doubt we will.

Hi all, Argyle fan here. Hope you don't mind someone popping in from across enemy lines, so to speak!
I wanted to check in to ask how many tickets you have sold for Saturday's game? It looks like you've been given three blocks... will you sell those out? The rest of the ground is looking pretty full so it should be a good crowd. If you don't sell your allocation then they'll be put on sale to home fans.
As far as the game itself goes, it's difficult to say what kind of line-up we'll be putting out. We've reverted to three-at-the-back under our caretaker manager, but we may well have a new man in place by Saturday so who knows. We also lost one of our best players in Finn Azaz this week, so I expect there will be a few experiments to determine who will take his place.
As for what kind of team we are, think Newcastle under Kevin Keegan. There have been more goals scored at Home Park this season than at any other stadium in the country - 63 in 15 games, which works out to 4.2 goals per game!
So based on that it should be an entertaining game at least.
I know you've had your struggles this season but it looks like your form has picked up under your caretaker manager. What formation are you likely to play and what sort of style do you play? We've had problems in the past with teams who go aerial, so if that's you then expect some joy out of our defence!
If you have any questions about Home Park or the surrounding area then feel free to ask. Otherwise, I hope it's an entertaining game and that those of you coming to Plymouth have a safe journey.

There's a big car park right outside the ground but it's a nightmare to get away from afterwards. If you're early (ie. minimum two hours before the game) then you might get lucky with the free parking at the Life Centre right next to the stadium. Otherwise you'll have to park in one of the many residential streets in the area; the earlier you arrive, the closer to the ground you'll get. If you turn up after 2pm you'll really struggle.

Hi Pafc. thanks for the info 're the parking.
Latest news on the Sutton Squad, we have just brought in a couple of short term loan players for the game tomorrow, 1) Erling Haaland, 2) Lionel Messi, but due to the strength of the current squad, both are only expected to warm the bench for most of the game. They may come on later in the game as impact subs.

I'm not sure that anyone on here knows how many tickets we've sold for this match. At a rough guess, I'd say around 200, but that could easily be an under-estimate. It's a rather strange time to be supporting Sutton Utd.

I did ask on Saturday how many sold. I think they might have said 250 odd but don’t hold me to it. Would expect us to get close to or just the other side of 300.
Looking forward to it. At least until 3pm.
