Impressive, very impressive from players and management. Should have put a few more on them.

Fantastic win today, but three of those four straight victories have been against poor sides. We should have beaten a depleted Swindon more emphatically this afternoon. As against Accrington, it was disappointing to concede late on. Goal difference could be decisive on the final day.
We're out of the relegation zone for the first time since August. But Colchester and Grimsby have those games in hand. We may need to make a point against Stockport next Saturday, when FGR and Colchester are also at home to promotion-chasing sides (MK and Wrexham respectively).

That was one of our strongest performances of the season. The silly mistakes and loss of possession that were commonplace earlier in the season were not evident and we looked really confident - nothing like our current league position suggests. Josh Coley carried on where he left off on Friday, and was superb for the entire game until he was substituted.
Aleman is right - a bigger score to us wouldn't have flattered us at all. Maybe we looked so good because Swindon were weak but you can only play the side in front of you.
For the stattos among us, we've now played 42 games, the same as the total number of games we played in our 3 relegation seasons - We've now equalled or beaten the number of points in each of those season (90/91 - 39 points, 99/00 - 34 points, 07/08 - 24 points).
The big question is did we hit form a couple of matches too late. We win all our remaning games and we will stay up. The next 4 games will tell us.

A very good performance and definitely one that shows this team playing in this way should not be relegation favourites. However its is not this team, playing in this manner that got us where we are. The transformation in staff, tactics and approach since SM took over is significant and obvious. so ‘The big question’ for me is not have we hit form too late but rather did we change the manager too late and not give the new coach the best chance to turn things round in time.
It’s a question, however, for another day because as it stands we can hear ‘The Great Escape’ theme tune whistling in our ears still.

It's opening a can of worms but I (and, I'm sure, others) still wish the board had rung the changes after the tactical debacle of the first match vs Salford. That's when the writing was on the wall.

It took Morison 10 games to get a win, and appointing him earlier wouldn't have made a difference with the loan signings we got - we still would have got them at the same time. And I don't think any of us could say they've not collectively made a positiove impact on the squad.

They certainly replaced the manager at a significant time and gave Morrison the transfer window. So we have had enough time. Who knows what would have happened if we assigned him some games earlier. I think to some degree many players had lost faith in Matt and some fell out. So perhaps cutting that off sooner may have left us with a few more points. I just think we have not had the technical players able to pic things up quicker. We are now seeing some fruits, likely too late but we have given ourselves a chance, and it could perhaps go to the wire.

Going slightly off topic here but I've noticed Steve Morison seems reluctant to form any bond with the fans. Doesn't really acknowledge us at the game and he's often asked in his post match interview to say a few words about the fans backing the team. Yesterday he was asked to comment on the great support at the game. His reply...'yeah thanks'...Steady on mate don't get too carried away mate.

The two penalties at home against Doncaster and Colchester may prove very significant.

But as long as he's doing the job, which he currently is, I don't mind that at all. He seems, post match, to engage with some of the players with affection. He''s here as a troubleshooter. If he's still here next season the mood may warm. But it's worth remembering that our previous two managers were fairly touchy-feely types. In the case of Dos, positively heart-on-sleeve. So, the difference will feel very apparent.

Yes I'm with you on that. Results were'nt going for him the first few months but you could see he'd changed the way we play even though we weren't winning. I'm happy he's here I just noticed he wasn't showing us any affection...but I'll get over it 😉

The two penalties at home against Doncaster and Colchester may prove very significant. Yes but for a team that was certain relegation candidates a short while ago and no one giving them a hope there is no point in going over old ground. Just look forward to the next four games which will also prove significant !

Half a new team and a whole new attitude. The confidence even found its way to the stands - once we scored nobody seemed anxious that we might let it slip. The Ref's assessor is one of the regulars, and he asked when U's scored their second whether we would sit back on the lead. Not this team I replied. Having said that: the 4 last subs introduced some of the carelessness from earlier displays. SM was visibly annoyed about the trip that set up the visitor's goal.
Even though all our remaining opponents are like us in the top 8 of the form table Sutton look like a team now that works for each other, has a plan of how to play, and might collect the points from any of them.

I really like SM and if he doesn't save us, it wont be his fault. Wish he'd come earlier. If he wants to keep his distance from the fans, that's totally fine with me.
