Irrespective of the position we are in, it has been nice to see so many former players supporting us this week.
Martin Clark and Gwynne Berry were at the SSC semi final. Martin was there again yesterday, along with Roy Osborne (who recently celebrated his 87th birthday) and Rick Collier. I believe Les Cleevely was there too. A few more turned up later for the veterans game.
Of course, Micky Joyce, Ken Ireland and Lee Wallis are there most weeks.

Are we doing comments on tonight's Colchester match on this thread? Wouldn't want anyone to miss my cheeriness. (Send not to know for whom the bell tolls...)

There is a scenario where either us or Colchester stay up based on more than points or even goal difference.
The criteria are as follows
1) Points; 2) Goal difference; 3) Number of goals scored; 4) Head-to-head results; 5) Wins; 6) Away goals; 7) Penalty points (sec 9.5); 8) 12-point sending off offences
We'd have to beat Colchester on at least 3) - head to head results are identical (both 1-1 draws) but Colchester will on 5) as we can only finish the season on 10 wins, whilst they already have 11.
So a Donny thumping of Colchester without reply would be great. Whilst that may be "wishful thinking", Donny have won the last 9 games on the spin, kept a clean sheet in 6 of those games and have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of those 9 (only getting one against Wrexham). In the last 10 games, they've scored 23 and conceded 5.

I think we need Doncaster to beat those worthless Colchester by at least a 3 goal margin to have a small bit of hope going into Saturday. If it was any other team but Doncaster then it would be a tall order.

Hm, wonder if knowing that Colchester can hit them will make Donkey sit back a bit to hold the lead... (but then, I would say that..)

Mathematically we’re still in this, but here’s hoping Doncaster score 4 goals for the third game in a row.
