I wouldn’t call them good points. It’s just made up rubbish until properly explained. The individual seems to be very bitter about something and just wants to criticise the board. Comes across as guessing without foundation. I trust the people in charge to make the right decisions more often than not and certainly more so than a poster on here who seems to revel in things not going to plan.
What does this mean?
The recruitment off the pitch has been extremely poor often costing the club more than they made for it
What does this mean?
The use of consultants and project engineers has been expensive
Was our social media team ever known as one of the best around? Really?
Just baseless bitter ranting until it is evidenced or specific.
People always want to find someone or something to blame. Because of the board the recruitment wasn’t good enough? The board has cost us our place in the league - because we’ve spent too much on consultants? I mean come on. The CCTV? The big screen - yeah probably cost a few points that.
As a club we’ve had to do lots in a short space of time. I applaud the job they’ve done and am grateful for our volunteers. It’s why we remain the best club there is. It’s bloody hard competing at this level or indeed NL level. I’ve enjoyed our sojourn into the EFL and I wouldn’t put it past us getting back. In the meantime thank you to our board for their endeavours and I know you’ll be doing your utmost to get us back.

GarethL how can you call them rubbish when you have not been involved with the board or the club at that level ?
Fans are being fed misleading information for sure and the brainwash effect is clear. For example how many of you believe the club is still wholly fan owned? I know the media still buys into that fantasy, when in fact only 20 percent if you include Tim who I believe is a true fan, is owned by the fans. 80 ish or so percent is owned by foreign investors with unknown intent.
None of the majority or 10 percent of fan shares are represented with a seat on the board .

I don't think the six-hour period after the sealing of our relegation is quite the right time for an inquest on the season. Given our precarious position at kick-off, today's outcome was hardly a shock. The party atmosphere in the away end was more about embracing rather than defying the all-but-inevitable.
As others have noted, the meek first-half performance suggested that our players had already accepted their fate. After a cautious start, the home side cut through us far too easily, going in 2-0 up at half-time.
Our fightback was commendable, as we won the second half 4-2. (MKD had conceded three or more goals in four of their previous six league games, so the signs of vulnerability were there.) But the score was irrelevant in the end, as Colchester gained the point they needed to secure 22nd place.
When Steve Morison took over in January, we were bottom of the table, six points behind third-bottom Colchester. We finish the season second-bottom, three points behind third-bottom Colchester. Yes, there's been an improvement, but has it really been enough?

you have hit the nail on the head. The board have had a 'amateur/non-league' mentality and this was epitomised by their 'let's keep going with good old Matt' for far too long. They never expected promotion to the EFL and mentally couldn't cope. This relegation could and should have been avoided, but for their attitude. Steve Morison is the first proper professional manager we have ever had, so I hope he stays. The criticism of his 'interview style' was so childish and ridiculous. Some fans need to grow up.

We would have stood more chance with the board we had back before mbuzz came along and invited the Americans in. We may of still failed and been relegated. But it would have been an honest try by a true bunch of amateurs, but who knew how to run a club properly and not get into large amounts of debt compared to our size.

So you’d have turned down promotion to the EFL then? Because how else could we have brought the pitch and ground to EFL required standard without spending the money?

The person saying these things hasn’t been involved, clearly has an agenda and as such I don’t take the comments seriously unless backed up with something (which they never have been). Yes we have investors, it’s common knowledge, suggest you have a look at who is on the board though. Nothing is hidden - it’s public knowledge, it’s on our website!

Defending the country of my choice here and calling out what looks like anti-American sentiment As I pointed out before, there are a number of British clubs in the lower leagues looking for buyers and/or investors, at reasonably low entry levels. Some are attractive as an asset strip given the real estate (land if you like) and others less so. SUFC doesn’t own the ground which means the attraction wouldn’t be to have a big piece of potential housing. Additionally, I think there are two Americans and two sports investment groups. The table showed we were not good enough over the term. The results end of last season, the loss of key players and perhaps poorer replacements together with the results at the beginning of this season indicating there were problems. That is a fact as is the fact that results and performances improved after the change of manager. Natural to assume that an earlier change would yield better results, just as thinking the date of the change was a failure of the board.
As for the debt, pretty unavoidable given what was needed for the ground, not because they added cheerleaders and hot dog stands.
All said and done, a board shake up and major changes in the club could well happen given the newer structure and current position. None of it should be too surprising to any of us. To go back to the old ways as some appear to hanker is wishful thinking.

A shame to ruin a matchday thread with thoughts and questions for the board. Maybe start another thread - seems like to many its an important topic.
However - as I have said many times - my door is always open, and I doubt you can find a more approachable and accessible set of Directors in the EFL or NL. Even on matchdays, though that opportunity may be some weeks off now, I and others are available to listen to concerns, and provide where we can feedback.
Its surprising how few of those with concerns take that opportunity. If it matters so much come and chat. Come to the supporters' forums etc. Alternatively, tap the keyboard here anonymously to a limited audience. Its not obvious that's the most efficient way to raise any concerns or get the answers you crave though.
800 "ordinary" fans supported the team in voice and actions for over 90 minutes yesterday, and I was among them.

To go back to the old ways as some appear to hanker is wishful thinking. poor “Anti-American sentiment” …….. where on earth did you get that belief from or are you currently residing on planet Trump along with so many other deluded people over there ?. Stupid comment in my opinion . As a genuine supporter I welcome all investment ( unless russian ) so am pleased that Americans etc would invest capital in “my” club . My original points were that we were playing catch up from the day we got promoted three years ago with regards to ground improvements required , especially ripping up a perfectly good revenue earning pitch . It all cost a lot of money that could have been used elsewhere . Nobody is blaming the board for this because it had to be done to comply with stupid , in my opinion , EFL regulations . As for Matt , I continue to love and admire the man because of what he did for this club . BUT , where I do place blame is with the board for allowing too much sentiment to come into play last season and this and not replace him a great deal sooner . It was obvious he was not going to walk away voluntarily , why should he want to make himself unemployed , so the board should have taken a business / professional decision so much earlier . I’m not saying Steve or anybody else would have definitely saved us but it was clear to a lot of us that Matt was not going to keep us up unfortunately . Is it too early to hold inquests like this …… yes , probably but I wanted to air my frustration with the board . Do I want us to learn and grow from these experiences and return to the EFL …….. most definitely yes . I have served my time travelling to places such as Bognor Regis and Carshalton for away matches and do not want to go back to those days . So to sum up , I am glad for your interest and investment in my club but mistakes have been made , in my opinion . Let’s learn from them and try to return to the good old days of being a Football League club . I miss it already 😢.

I thought that Matt's services should have been dispensed with earlier too but to imply he wasn't a "proper professional manager" is bizarre. Yes, bad choice of words. I should have referred to experience as a manager in the EFL He had one fantastic season in the first league season and another decent one were we comfortably stayed up in the league, so I think its far to say that Matt is a good manager, especially as he kept us in the Nat League and then won it. I think the issue was rebuilding a new team and style in what was a very competitive league 2, which proved a step too far for Matt. Perhaps he got a little bit over confident and once the wheels came lose it was always going to crash. Losing player confidence. Matts style was based more on studying the opposition and preventing them from playing, and when other teams worked him out and with many new players not fitting into that style straight away, he had to change things and this is where I think he struggled and why the team became so poor for a while. Steve puts a bit more emphasis on applying ourselves more which is why we caused teams to have to worry about us more and treat us with more respect. I think Steve was the right call for the place we were at, but we simply cant afford the players with the technical ability to have done things quicker. Good, but not quite good enough. I am sure Matt will be at a new Nat/Nat South level club soon enough and we show people that he is still a very good manager. Lets hope we dont have to compete against him too much.

The table showed we were not good enough over the term. The results end of last season, the loss of key players and perhaps poorer replacements together with the results at the beginning of this season indicating there were problems. Agreed. My take is that the fall (after the rise) of the club can actually be traced back to the summer of 2022 following our first season in the EFL. Since then we've lost some high quality players such as Ajeboye, Bugiel, Randall, Bennett, Olafe and Ali Smith. On top of that the likes of Barden, Beautyman, Eastmond, Goodliffe, John and Milsom have been hit by long-term injuries and/or age is starting to creep up with them. The warning signs were there with poor run at the end of the 22/23 season. With the exception of Harry Smith (and latterly Lakin), I'm struggling to think of any who have been adequately replaced. Whilst Patrick is perhaps the most exciting talent at the club since Roarie Deacon he's not, whatever the reason/s, been successfully accommodated within the team for a sustained period. Maybe recruitment could have been better? However, I'm reluctant to blame the Board or Matt because that's perhaps as much a reflection of having to shop in Poundland rather than Harrods.
