I wouldn’t overly worry about other sides. Of course there’ll be some good ones in the NL, always has been. But we’ve had a team that’s comfortably mid table league above standard in recent times. If we put together a decent side under Steve then we’ll do alright

Looking as at Bromley and Solihull, I thought both looked better than us, going to be tough next year. We'd probably look better if we were playing in a televised playoff final at Wembley too. Also don't forget that's the two best teams in the league (given that Chesterfield were already gone) Besides, we'll hopefully look different next season, once Steve & co have had a chance to regroup and make the team their own. They came in at an awkward time and didn't get a lot of breathing space

Braintree up at Worthing’s expense. I’d say Worthing seem a club in the up and won’t be long before they make the step. Braintree seem to struggle with the step up (or have to date). Seems a lot more go straight down these days as the gap seems fairly large NS/NN to NL now.
Is Ollie Pearce someone we would have a chance of signing (if it’s deemed he can step up)? Presume others may have bigger wallets!

Now that we know the full line-up, here are my predictions for next season's Boxing Day fixture pairings in the NL.
Gateshead / Hartlepool Halifax / York AFC Fylde / Rochdale Altrincham / Oldham Solihull M / Tamworth Forest Green / Yeovil Aldershot / Eastleigh Maidenhead / Wealdstone Sutton / Woking Dagenham & R / Ebbsfleet Braintree / Southend Barnet / Boston
Barnet and Boston looks an odd pairing but, as Andy notes above, Boston is an outlier and doesn't pair naturally with any other club. Tamworth and Solihull is such an obvious pairing, I can't see Boston being placed with either. To a slightly lesser extent, the same is true of the two Essex clubs. Barnet v Boston might jokingly be dubbed the A1 derby!
Sutton did of course memorably play and win at Woking on 26 December 2019.

I’m glad Crewe are getting stuffed in the play-offs (a 2-0 home loss to Doncaster in the first leg today). They didn’t help our cause at all in the last couple of months of the season - scraped a 1-0 win over us in March and then only got one point from the three games against Grimsby, FGR and Colchester. Not that I’m bitter at all.

The National League have altered the Christmas, New Year & Easter schedule for 2024/25 season: Boxing Day fixtures will now be reversed on Good Friday (not New Years Day as traditionally happened in the past) New Year's Day fixtures will be reversed on Easter Monday This does not therefore mean necessarily that the fixture computer will give local derbies and could easily produce the following pairings based on location & Travel AFC Fylde/Altrincham Aldershot/Maidenhead Barnet/Sutton Boston/Tamworth Braintree/Southend Dagenham/Ebbsfleet FC Halifax/York City Forest Green Rovers/Solihull Moors Gateshead/Hartlepool Rochdale/Oldham Wealdstone/Woking Yeovil/Eastleigh

I doubt that Greater Manchester police would want Oldham and Rochdale to play each other on Boxing Day. That didn't happen this season.

We were looking better end of season, so if the team is not dismantled too much and we make some descent recruits we could turn up trumps.
