Well done, Dave and to the club!
Out of interest, given all the roof space at GGL, has thought ever been given to installing solar panels? My guess is the answer might be "We'd like to but the capital cost is prohibitive."

About 15 years ago, when quite high feed-in tariffs were being used to prime the infant Solar PV market, we actually got to within 1 or 2 days of signing a deal. A large firm well know in the cladding market had developed a combined panel, outer cladding and PV. They had agreed to remove our stand roof, strengthen the uprights and install panels. We would get cheap electricity and they would sell the rest to the market. Just before we signed, the Government announced a cut in the feed-in tariff and I had a phone call to say deal off, no longer financially viable 🤬
Solar panels are heavy, our other structures aren’t strong enough for roof mounting. However, as and when our ground developments are finally complete and we know all land use requirements we will explore whether they are a viable option as ground-mounted. They need to face south and not be overshadowed.

Which means that by the start of next season there will only be one in the EFL! Well done Dave, some really great work has been happening at GGL
