The club have replaced the ineffective past director for media, sounds like it may of been one of the Americans that have got in a new lead for that, but nothing concrete. It has only taken them 7 years to fully wake up to the damage the past holder did due to their lack of ability. Hopefully they have had a full shake up on paid staff in the media side, they hired in the wrong places and spent the money on the wrong things. And now spend their time looking at the wrong key indicators to satisfy their position.
As for the want for knowledge and updates, it comes back to if you feel we are still a fan owned club? . The club certainly likes to portray itself as fan owned still. Yet since the new board started to come in and push the old out, normal fan shareholders no longer get full accounts. Makes you wonder if they have created an unofficial 2 tier share holding.
The club is still 20 percent owned by the fans. It’s marginal and most likely getting smaller by the day. But until that number becomes zero. Those fans who hold shares have a right to updates and information in a timely manner.
Fans in general out of respect also have an expectation of being kept in the loop. Unless the club have signed up to the idea of legacy fans being bad and something to stamp out.
Ultimately it comes down to how you feel the ownership of the club has gone . If you still own it then you have a right to know and input. If you are content it’s owned by the Americans and others. Then you are happy that there’s no expectation and you are just spectators. Although in the latter, we must stop advertising ourselves as a fan owned club as it would be wrong.

And now spend their time looking at the wrong key indicators to satisfy their position. Care to elaborate on this? Year 1 they hired a full time person just to run twitter and Facebook, nothing else. The person ended up doing half the job and the club never put any funding past buying some bits of kit into the video side of it. The club paid for advertising on bus shelters, promoted social media but never promoted video media. The club paid for external camera operators to film women’s games as they did not put funding into sufctv. Last season the club hired a new person, again only really focusing on social media and nothing else. They did get involved on the odd occasion with video media but rarely. The club at every turn during efl tenure has poured money into only one side of media, that being social. Totally ignoring the main sellable content form as is video. There is a lot more to examples, but they can wait for another day. As for KPI, the club only care about numbers of subs. Not interactions. This is why I fear this season we will see a massive decline in attendance at ggl.

With regards to my earlier request for any confirmation on whether we were keeping last seasons training facilities and whether or not we were going to be full or part time going forward I should have perhaps elaborated why I asked such questions . It is not because I am secretly a mole for another club but moreover it would help a little mushroom like myself to understand what players we might be likely to attract for next season . For example a previously full time EFL player might not wish to not only drop down a league or two but also be able to afford to only be paid part time . I would love it if the club communicated better with us but since our promotion three years ago I have come to accept that we are now only a source of revenue because the club has become so “professional” . If this is the price of success then I accept it because there is nothing else that can be done .
Sad mushroom retreating back to the damp and dark 😢

Surely a lot of this will be the fact we’ve had a lot of competing things to finance all at once so probably haven’t been able to spend as much as we’d like in an ideal world? I’m not sure on the last paragraph why subs vs interactions would then lead to a massive fall in attendances? What is the link there?

Someone has already said on here we’re not keeping the training ground.

Concerns have been raised many times in the past but the doors were bolted shut post promotion in 2021. Point to take away here is that most fans do not know the half of it.

I remember at the last Fans forum, a lot was discussed about using the clubs assets to generate cash.
I find it a bit odd that Amber's sports bar is not hosting anything for the biggest Boxing match of our generation on Saturday. They could have promoted a big night serving grub with the bar open, Instead it looks like Ambers will be closing during the ring walk.

I suppose that just as in life, football clubs will see change. Particularly when a club is relegated, change is inevitable. "what we had before didn't work so we must change" (exacerbated, of course by players wishing to leave). This having been said, I am not sure that I was quite mentally prepared for the amount of change being far more significant on our way back down into non-league football than on our way up into league football for the first time in 123 years! I am very much put in mind of the summer holidays before starting at a new school: I am apprehensive as I hardly know any of the new teachers, I am not sure I know the headmaster, the board of governors has had changes and even the school playing field has been dug up! Hopefully I will feel better when I see all my friends from my old school in the playground on the first day of term?! Anyway, I'm just off now to see if my season ticket tells me where my coat peg is! (#ForeverAmber! - (please tell me that's still the same? )

There was the occasional perception, late last season, that going back down to the National might in some ways be a 'simple' thing. As though we would be going back to what we knew, or the status quo ante. Comforting, perhaps. But I think it might have been structurally simpler to stay up. Had that been doable.

Who are you by the way? And as for agenda. Never knew I needed one ? And even if I did have one, it would not be mine you would need to worry about.
