I haven’t posted on here in many years & apologies if this has already been discussed but does anyone know why all of our instagram pictures/memories been removed recently & can we read anymore into the club badge being displayed in black & white or just simply the we will be back message? Just thought the black & white was a little unusual, heard rumblings about a rebrand or new badge/club crest.
My only theory is have we removed the pictures because of it being mental health week?
I don’t think completely confusing and worrying the fan base is a master stroke at good mental health. It was an awful decision and the black and white badge absolutely embarrassed us on social media. Dragging it out until Friday is a further bad move.
The worst bit for me was where they were quoting back social media posts from people who clearly had been confused and upset, giving the impression of relishing that effect on people. It almost felt like they were holding something over those people's heads, something they really wanted, and enjoying not giving it to them!
I am sure that wasn't the intention - hopefully that was just meant to intensify the "air of mystery" around it all in a "look, everyone's talking about this, what could it be?" kind of way. But when it's something people care about this much, that sort of approach is extremely tone-deaf.
I'm not usually one to criticise hard-working people who do their best to help our club. But I'm concerned about the impression this will give about us.
This campaign has been carried out by someone employed by the club for 8 months as fan interaction lead, along with a new head of media who is said to have years of experience in efl football clubs, but it is worrying that both show less understanding than the last head of social media.
I think it’s point proven that the board have no clue when it comes to media or who to run it. You would think and expect someone who has been in the role already for a while to have a base understanding of the fan base. And the professional should have looked at this and questioned if it would have worked.
But of course instead they will look at the numbers, it did have a fair number of views and interactions, the fact they were mostly negative will not concern them. Job done I guess, box ticked.
scorpioeyes: I predicted a relegation struggle with a totally inexperienced manager. Hope I am wrong, but it doesn't look like it. MG is out of his depth, that's obvious.

ggl: So are we now saying we have a manager who is not in favour of bringing in loan players and if the board decided to part company with him they cannot afford to do so ?

historyboy: Sad to hear of the passing of Eddie Cack, I remember him well. I think that the said photograph publishsed by the club, of him sitting next to Dave Hermitage, isn't him at all; I think the picture shows Micky Goodall. Compare other pictures of both.

scorpioeyes: It certainly would be 'convenient' for Dover to have the season washed out. if they fail to turn up tomorrow,we should be awarded the game and 3-0 to our goal difference. Why should we be inconvenienced by any attempts to rearrange the game?

Burtie: Hello chaps. Is there any intelligence about the crowd situation for the game vs Hartlepool on 22 May? Does the club have a position on supporters?

scorpioeyes: I think these odds are quite amazing. If I was a neutral looking at the recent form and upcoming fixtures,I'd make hartlepool or perhaps Torquay as fave for the title. To have 'pool at 9s and us as evens is bizarre.

valiant: Hello again! Can you tell me where the away seating is please? I thought it was behind the goal next to the away terrace but looking at the film on Quest I can't see it! Thanks.

pinewalker: There is a temporary stand at 45 degrees to the pitch behind the NE corner flag, and there is more away seating at the east end of the main stand both accessed via the away turnstiles.

scorpioeyes: So we have a situation where people from both sides of any argument can say they are 'uncomfortable' in the presence of the opposing view. Who is to say which side is correct or justified?
