Jayden Harris….released by Carlisle and only lasted ten games while on loan at Eastleigh? And the club wants us to go back to the EFL?? The Croydon boy was homesick 😂🤣😂😂 Just shows how much you know about football. From your posts not much and as I said before, if you don’t like the way the club is run get your cheque-book out and start spending, oh one problem you don’t have the money, so it’s easy too have a go at people who do when it’s not yours. So if you don’t have any thing positive to say don’t say it, also the board have said they got things wrong. 😔

There is nothing wrong with having an opinion bigal, in fact the forum would be a very sad place without it. We just need to be nice to one another. Stewart, there is opinion and then there is constant criticism. Be nice to one and other?? Are you aging hippy from the 60’s by any chance? You need to grow some

Absolute crap signings so far and if the club wants to go back up into the efl, then they need sign better quality players. If not we are looking at mid table or lower going by these signings we’ve made.

Why not just support Chelsea? Look at their sightings. Its a bit silly supporting a team like Sutton if your goal is to see proven quality players come in abundance. I would not do it to myself, glutton for punishment..

This view is so short-sighted - did you not see the swathe of players plucked from clubs down the pyramid by Crawley Town last summer? Williams from Brackley, Lolos from Oxford City, Adeyemo from Cray Valley - just a few examples.

This topic has become interesting now. Not sure who amber patriarch is and not too keen on the very forward way they word their posts but they obviously see the issues that have formed at sutton.
Yes mark is correct, constant criticism of something is not the right way to go about it. But then again you need to understand the causes and effects before moving forward.
I would be interested to know more about who has the right to comment based on what they have put in or not put in. and who decides.
But back on topic, where are the key signings needed to kick start this return to the efl. So far it looks like a lot of gambling going on. And as for other clubs having millionaire owners, we apparently have millionaire owners too don’t forget.

It is interesting to note that you need to have invested a certain amount or money in a club before you qualify to comment?
As luck would have it, I think I qualify having spent thousands of pounds on the club, seen matches well into 4 figures (yes actually being there), and spent hundreds hours if not more on unpaid work for the club. Although I believe anyone has the right to comment on their club no matter what they have spent.
Another thing, a passionate supporter can have misgivings about the way their club is being run, just ask any Newcastle fan. The idea that you can only post positive comments on a forum such as this maybe the reason why so many seasoned supporters have abandoned it and headed elsewhere.
As JK above points out we have millionaire business owners who were going to take this club forward and replace those willing but ultimately amateur predecessors. What has happened, we have been relegated, we have amassed debt which could take 20 years to pay back, our website / social media is a mess (and the club is paying for it), what about our community programme, when was the last time Jenny appeared at a fate or the club went into local schools or had a stall in the high street etc.
The signings the club is making show the direction of travel, that is not to put down any of the new players, some may well come good, but they are all gambles.
How much money is going out on non playing staff, and what are those professionals returning to the club that makes it better than before?
Before I go I don't know who 'amberpatriach' is, but they are entitled to their opinion. I would also say that some posters should steer away from personal comments towards others, it does not further your argument.

I hate American corporate speak but have the Board been clear about their vision for the Club? It’s great to say that we want to be a EFL club again but is that sustainable for us in our current state with such a small fan base and limited revenue? Where do they see us being in say 5 years time? A financially viable Non League club with deep rooted links in the community or with a team challenging to get into League 1 or even the Championship? If the latter then how do we get there with crowds averaging last season around 3,000?
It’s great say that we want to get back up but where is the plan to sustain that ambition and grow on it if that’s the case? If you ask a Man Utd fan on their vision it would be to get back into the champions League regularly and be challenging for the Premiership title. For, say, Portsmouth it would be a five year plan to resetablish themselves in the top tier
We are literally not in either of their leagues but whatis our vision and plan to deliver that aspiration - so far it doesn’t look that clear to me

The club needs to have a vision and to hear what ambitions they would like to achieve and also to be successful both on and off the pitch.where would they like to see us in the future.Do they have a plan because us fans just do not know. Visions could include :- Community focus Financial prudence Efficiency and Organisational strengths and Environmental Responsibility. To name but a few.

Well, I can answer the bit about environmental responsibility.
We recently became only the third club to be certified under the EFL's Green Clubs scheme. We also passed a similar audit on behalf of London Borough of Sutton, under their Green Mark scheme, with flying colours, and are about to start submitting evidence for this year's audit.
We produce an annual CSR report that includes a comprehensive disclosure of our environmental impacts, including detailed analysis of our Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions. We are probably more advanced than any other in terms of quantifying Scope 3 impacts and very few SMEs in any sector disclose or even try to quantify this aspect. The 22/23 report was delayed by issues with our production partner and we have had to revert to a totally in-house solution, that should be online in the next few days. The 23/4 report is scheduled for later this year.
We have targets for carbon reduction and also in relation to waste and biodiversity. We have policies that reflect environmental issues in procurement and also Modern Slavery, which although not an environmental impact is an important element of any good sustainability strategy.
We produce quarterly sustainability newsletters that are posted on the website. In fact, all of the above can be found on the website, and it will all be reviewed over the coming weeks and put into a more structured format.

And DaveFs thorough response on CSR and environmental impacts shows the level of planning and execution that I personally hope will be replicated and applied when looking at other key components of the pathway the Board should surely be clearly articulating. Ie how do we generate more revenue for the club, improve the ground, drive community ties and of course build a winning squad and management team whilst delivering an excellent matchday experience.
Not saying anything is easy nor do I have the answers but the Board should at least have this plan and be able to attribute its key milestones rather than simply stating ‘it’s our objective to get back in the EDL as soon as possible’
