Only once in 37 years has a team gone straight back up and I don't think we will be number 2 Shrewsbury in 2004, Carlisle in 2005, Bristol Rovers in 2015 and Cheltenham in 2016. So, 4 in 20 years. Not great, but not as bleak as you posted. Edited to add Grimsby in 2022. So 5 in 20 sorry for my error

Following on from other comments I was reading about Craig Eastmond. It says that he becomes a free agent on 30th June so as others have said there will probably be lots of transfer activity after this date.

We have seen Kizzi sign up after termination of his contract and Harry B sign up to Woking a couple weeks after beng told he would not have a renewed contract, also John Has signed to Ebbsfleet, so I can't see why Eastmomd would need to wait. I think some players are probably just holding out in the hope they may get a league side come in for them. Probably the case with Hart and why he has not signed our contract offer yet..

Matt Rush - striker previously with Maidstone who he scored 15 in 14 for second half of the season. Looks a good signing.

FWIW that's what wiki says too en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_RushShould he be a quarter as good as his namesake Ian, I'll be very happy.

Certainly a consistent theme to our signings. We’re going to be young if nothing else. It’s going to be very interesting how this goes.

A view on him from a Maidstone fan:
Works bloody hard. It’s tiring watching him! You’ll never question his attitude or effort.
We didn’t really play to his strengths but almost all fans will say we are sad to see him go. Interested to see how good he will be in the NL.
He isn’t the most clinical but then that’s why he is is playing at this level.
I reckon you’ll be happy with him.

I’m liking all the players we are signing, all young, hungry and with the right attitude, and with the ambition from the club it’s all looking good. So this season should be exciting fingers crossed.⚽️⚽️⚽️
