Sutton United Director Martin Copus has been elected as a Director of the Vanarama National League
We're very pleased to announce that Sutton United Director Martin Copus has been elected as a Director of the Vanarama National League following the league's AGM early this month.
Martin has been a director of the club since 2018 and is one of thirteen directors on the league's board under chairman Jack Pearce, who we congratulate on his MBE in the recent King's Birthday Honours List.
Martin said of his appointment: ''Given the experience we gained from our recent seasons in the EFL, I felt we could make a valuable contribution to the Vanarama National League's Board, and the issues and opportunities on their agenda. So I'm delighted and honoured to represent the U's at the league's top table going in to the new season, and for as long as we're competing at this level.''

Curious to know what expertise mc brings to them as a representative of a club part owner. Very much a middle man type. He has not really done anything at sutton. Maybe the vnl want access to mbuzz ?
From mbuzz point of view, I would imagine they just want access to possible advertising rights through the vnl.

Enough of this Ill- informed nonsense,
Martin happens to have spent many years involved in several sports from elite to grass roots level in countries across the world. I guess that the NL thought that someone with his knowledge, experience and huge list of contacts might just be helpful.

What was his experience at the other clubs? He always makes it clear his thing is advertising and PR, not running clubs or leagues.
As you say, probably more valuable for his black book of names and numbers.

I recognised 3 faces but I don't think I've ever seen Tony Dolbear before.

Two things about these 4 people are immeasurable.
Firstly their combined ages (! 😀) and secondly, their absolutely unprecedented and largely unheralded service to Sutton United Football Club over many years. A very heartfelt “thank you” from me for everything you do and have done” for our great club.

We need to have them at the forefront because they truly love the club. All these new directors seem pretty faceless and seem to have appeared at the club out of nowhere and I hope for the good and longevity of the club that they are involved for the right reasons.

Is Geoff Norcott a supporter and why on Jeremy Vine? Tim should be showing it really.
