Don't get excited but the pavilion frame work has been delivered and is being stored in the old fans zone.
Owing to protracted legal problems the cost of building the footings and kitting out has tripled so it's not going in its final destination yet.

Surely when park side seating finally gets installed then the pavilion would surely be incorporated into the design.
However i have always been sceptical about why its needed.

The idea of the pavilion would be a facility for the whole community to use. Changing facilities for the park pitches, meeting area for clubs, etc, not specifically for SUFC.
Very protracted legal work, covid and cost of promotion has very nearly put paid to that. All the money from the foundation etc is ring fenced. Unfortunately the cost of materials over the 5 year period wasn't.

Whilst i understand all that its seems like a bygone era when football players got changed in a pavilion before playing their match in a recreation ground. My experience is that they arrive already kitted out and i don't believe that will change anytime soon.I'm sure a toilet block would be appreciated though. |

It was always intended to deliver more than just changing rooms, a flexible facility for the benefit of the wider community. But even if we just look at that aspect, our women and girls in particular would, I am sure, appreciate a secure facility and, of course, better facilities help attract better players.
