Third fixture of the pre-season schedule sees us head into Essex tonight to take on Steve Morisons previous team Hornchurch - a side we’ve come up against before but not for a few years.
Still experimenting with shapes and systems I’m sure, be interested to read people’s comments from those going tonight - the promise of a week ago at Tonbridge got tempered by the loss at Farnborough on Saturday.

Any reviews on performance last night? Stand-out performers. Sounds a decent nights work.

Any reviews on performance last night? Stand-out performers. Sounds a decent nights work. It's hard to judge. We turned the home defence on numerus occasions and we should have scored more, we can't be that wasteful in a league game. I thought Hornchurch were very poor defensively. Hopefully AA or markf can give their views on the game.

Why only those two? I was going to give mine but I won't bother if nobody wants them 😛

More impressive performance than Saturday's, with the XI who played the first hour about as strong as the XI who replaced them for the last half-hour. Jeremy Sivi (first 60) and Jayden Harris (last 30) stood out in midfield, with the latter scoring the best of our three goals. Good to see the academy graduates involved in the thick of things: a goal and an assist (via the keeper, for Eduino Vaz) from Joden Trickett, then an assist (for Harris) from Vinnie Tume.

A trip to Hornchurch never that appealing but there was some good people (volunteers) to engage with pre match.
As has been said, never easy to gauge anything from psf's but once again the energy and speed was on show.
Both sides missed decent chances but Steve Arnold as against Farnborough, made some decent stops.
What I will say is that based on the evidence so far, Farnborough, who appear to have a more settled side at NLS than the other two look like they will enjoy a better season out of the three.
Sutton's first win at Hornchurch since a brief 3 years as opponents in the Athenian League in the early 60s.
