Any that particularly stick out from down the years?
A few from me:
- Sutton 3-3 Chelsea XI (was actually a post-season friendly in the year 00’s) but just remember it being a great game - Bolt was mercurial that night. - Sutton 3-4 Arsenal XI (was on a Friday night during the Dos years - seem to remember Jack Jebb scored a free kick for the Gunners) - Sutton 1-5 Crystal Palace (Gwynne Berry testimonial - he went on to miss a penalty in that game I seem to remember)

I think I’ve remembered this correctly. 1970, Bud Flanagan charity game pre-season. Lost 3-0 to Chelsea’s first cup winning team
Does Larry Pritchard’s testimonial count? 5000 packed in to see a Spurs team full of big names.
Oh, and the 1985 Surrey Benevolent Shield game at Selhurst Pk. Palace’s penalty for being allowed to not play in the county cup. We won 4-0 against a strong line up, Rick Collyer was immense in goal and Steve Coppell asked about signing him. Decided against it when he discovered Rick was about 107 !!

And didn't Chelsea include Derek Vaughan, son of Sutton legend Charlie? He was a Chelsea reserve and used to coach us at Glastonbury.

I remember the Albe testimonial against an all star side led by Bob "the cat" Bevan, when Kevin Keegan played and then decided to swap roles (and shirt) with a ballboy!

I think you’re right. Derek was also our youth team manager for a while. I was at school with Derek and used to play football with him. Charlie came over Sutton Common Rec one Sunday and gave us boys a quick coaching lesson. Happy Days!
