A trip to Staines’ Wheatsheaf Park this afternoon for our latest friendly - still painful memories of that 0-3 reverse in the play-offs those years ago.
Note the 4pm kick off for the game today.
Anyone going today?

Quite impressed today, albeit with the caveat that I have no idea how strong the Brentford line-up was. They had quite a few triallists.
We won 1-0 but it should have been four or five. Rush had a penalty saved after the keeper rushed out and brought down one of our wingers. The defensive unit needs more work, but I'd have been surprised if they had a perfect understanding after just a few games together. But they all looked solid in the challenge and comfortable on the ball.
In midfield we snapped at them quite a lot, "hunting in packs" at times, and often won the ball back. We also used quite a high press at times and several times we won the ball back in the top third, leading to good openings.
All of our wide men looked positive and tried to get past their man. I lost count of the number of times we got down the sides (but must have been 15-20) and pulled the ball back only for the chance to go begging, but that's something they can work on on the training pitch.
Our triallist at CF is only 20 but is a big 'unit'. He took his goal well and had four other efforts, all on target. Not afraid to shoot.

I thought we looked pretty good and the side seems to be coming together really well. To be fair, Brentford had quite a few chances that could've gone either way but I do think we were the better side overall.
