Does anyone know our colours today? I'm not seeing that in the website 'preview'. Pretty sure I read somewhere we’re in amber today. Anyone looking in at the Tamworth Tap? Best pub in Britain 2 years running as named by CAMRA. Let's hope they always do unless there's a genuine colour clash.

0-0 ht. Tamworth make a Matt Gray side look like Brazil 1970’s. Extraordinary stuff. First look at the new side. Left back very impressive. We look a little weak aerially in the left channel but overall we’ve done ok. Need to do more with some decent positions going forwards. A good one to go on and win. Sort of side who just wait for 1 or 2 things to fall, need to concentrate and defend strongly. If we can get on the ball more we look like we can control the game.

Dire 2nd half. Seemed to decide to go hit and hope. Early days but was expecting much different to that. Lots to work on for game 2. I thought Tamworth were a poor side.

Shame Arnold made that bad error after his saves. Tamworth were poor but their part time status wasn’t apparent.
Our strikers were anonymous I thought.

Yes we should be happy with a point as we were under par, it’s going too take a while to find our feet and combinations. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Not too bothered about the performance/result TBH. It's just the first game in a long, hard season. More concerning is the news that De Silva will be out for weeks/months: he seems to be something of a livewire.

Perhaps this is needed, as all the talk of promotion was a big leap. At the end of the day its an away point.

Great support today, excellent numbers. I thought a draw was fair, two sides still looking like it’s pre season. Not sure why we went long second half, we looked better first half. Difficult pitch to play on, didn’t seem to have been watered.

Yes have to agree, poor second half, plus the injury, may have to bring someone in. Still took a goal keeping error for them to score but kept going and got the goal, the draw fair result. Yes things to work on and also thought coley made a big difference coming on and got the goal, so onwards and up wards. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Long way to go of course, but, on this evidence, both sides are bottom-half material. The standard of play was way below what we saw in League Two last season. Arguably, the pitch and the sapping weather were extenuating circumstances.
Simper looked lively for us in central midfield, and Arnold made a couple of good saves before their goal. Coley did well to get the equaliser. But overall there was a lack of cohesion and penetration.

Great turnout from the Sutton supporters. The pitch was a big factor today and we never really got to grips with it. Some very basic errors made by a few of our players. We seemed to be trying to gift Tamworth a goal! Really glad to come back with a point on a hot day and look forward to seeing how we can perform on our home pitch. Yes it could be argued that both sides looked bottom half material but Steve won't settle for that and changes will be made if necessary and he mentioned other player/s arriving.
Gateshead off to a flyer but Barnet lost and Forest Green were pegged back.Maybe keep an eye on Oldham who also won well today.

We won 5-1 and Stockport lost 0-1 first match last season so I think we can safely say yesterday’s results are unlikely to mean much

438 of us there yesterday a good turnout. Some of our more vociferous supporters took over a pub in the town centre but all well behaved. Average performance from the team but understandable with a brand new squad.
