The PA system works perfectly well in the grandstand. It does. But we can't all be in the grandstand. On the curva, for example, it's pretty appalling.

Literally nothing wrong with the announcer today. Did a fine job, as she did with the post match interviews. If you really find issue with her work, it says much more about you than it does of her.
But back to the match. Two decent sides who eventually cancelled each other out. York will be up there come the end of the season, as I think we will be.
Credit to their keeper for what possibly be the best save of the season we'll see. It was very Gordon Banks 1970. But again our team showed how entertaining they are and how progressive they are. We're not going to win every game this season, and today was a decent point.

Never mind the announcements, let's talk about the game! York City were the best of the four teams we've played so far this season, and, although a draw was probably a fair result on the balance of play, they might well have nicked three points at the end.
Nobody said it was easy. Both sides were guilty of some wasteful finishing, and the match could quite easily have finished 4-4. Our two goals were headers, and it was great to see Will Davies then top scorer Josh Coley taking those chances. Young Charlie Waller could have added another when his surging run took him through their back line, but he elected to pass rather than shoot and the opportunity was gone.
Our squad does now lack an experienced, physical player who can come on late in a match and make an impact. Such a player is York's Lenell John-Lewis, who scored their 86th-minute equaliser and could have snatched a winner when heading off target a few minutes later. There's still some learning for us to take on board.

They looked a good side. We showed character again and a draw was a fair result as it was very close, but a shame we did not hold on or pinch the lead again near the end their keeper made a great save, but it was not to be. Arguably a harder game coming up on Monday, lets hope we can pick up a point or three there.
We are certainly a handful right now, lets hope the team can keep up the progress!

Wasn’t able to watch this one but another positive to continue undefeated at a time when we’re finding our feet. I feel there should be some pretty easy fixes to some of the defensive frailties we’ve shown (hopefully) which will then make us tough to beat as the season progresses. I know we kept clean sheets at Wealdstone and against Altrincham but in these last 3 games all our opponents have got in so easily at times - our left channel seems particularly vulnerable. A great start to the season, if we stay unbeaten over the next 2 things will be looking very rosy.

Only early days i realise but we are still averaging the magical two points per game which in most seasons is enough to win the league. York were a decent team and on that form could well be a challenging for promotion. Eastleigh are flying at the moment (pardon the pun). Will be interesting to make comparisons on Monday.

Not sure criticism of the announcer yesterday is warranted. The lady's first go for a start and I could hear the h-t's being read out from outside the ground. I an afraid the pa is awful around parts of GGL, especially the rec side. Anyway, as far as I can recall, she becomes the first female match announcer at SUFC so congrats on a piece of club history! One question was the lady in question our SLO?
As for the match not much to add. We looked vulnerable down the right channel all match as York had some quicks and Fallowfield who we have come up against in the past for Harrogate was a real menace on the overlap. Pearce may not have scored but he was lively while Felix was excellent in the midfield.
For U's great character to come from behind but can't begrudge York their equaliser as it had been coming. We still give the ball away too much (so did they though) and I still think a calming head is missing at times but another determined, athletic performance graced by two well-headed goals from two lovely balls into the box.
Have to comment on the first half misses. One in a match yes, but two? At least it was a stalemate on them too.
Thought the ref was a little inconsistent but we have had far worse in the EFL.

Think the P’A is going to be overhauled when the new stand is built on the park side, so we simply have to make do until then. ⚽️⚽️⚽️
