I came across a magazine article recently which featured a Bradford based artist called Paul Town who has dedicated his career to painting many UK football grounds past and present. His favourite ground ? Bradford's old Park Avenue stadium, not surprisingly. I am sure many of us will have fond memories of some of these football grounds. I particularly liked the unusual ground configuration at Southampton's Dell Milton Road end, a vague memory from 1979 when I saw a match there. Those expecting to see Gander Green Lane will be disappointed though ! Website: paultownart.com

Website: paultownart.com I believe Yorkshire CCC used to play at Bradford PA's ground when they often held games away from Headingley. Bramall Lane is, of course, more famous in that regard. I've very happy memories of The Dell when I was doing my postgrad degree in Southampton which happened to be the season they beat Man Utd in the Cup Final with a wonderful team of Channon et al. It was a very atmospheric, tightly-packed, if not the most comfortable, ground.

Bradford Park Avenue’s ground was indeed a great little ground. The main stand was two-sided, with a smaller seated area on the back side overlooking the cricket ground. I saw eight games there in their last season in Div 4.
No ground can ever beat (IMO) the beautiful and enormous Leeds Road stadium. Simply magnificent under the lights with the Kilner Bank escarpment behind it (now completely tree covered and providing an Alpine-like backdrop to the equally beautiful JSS stadium).
