Hopefully you have seen the adverts by now, so this is just a reminder about the Fans’ Evening after the game against Maidenhead on Saturday. Free to attend for all.
Specifically, I’d like to mention the Supporters’ Trust, or to be more accurate the Sutton United Supporters’ Society Limited, as it does have company status and is governed by the Financial Conduct Authority.
“The Trust” was formed around 15 years ago, but has been largely inactive over the last 5-6 years as events rather overtook everyone. Earlier this year we managed to ensure that the company was not dissolved by the FCA as ‘inactive’, and now the next step is to recruit more members and raise funds.
So, what does The Trust do ? As a legal entity we can, and do, hold shares in SUFC Ltd, so we can represent the views of our members to the company and they are required to respond to questions. Also, our official aims and objectives include supporting the club in its non-core activities. Originally, much of the work now undertaken under the banner of the club’s Foundation was initiated by The Trust, so we want to keep supporting that where we can, including all teams outside of the men's first team. Finally, we work alongside the Supporters’ Club to help deliver a better experience for everyone who follows Sutton United.
Anyone who goes on Saturday can learn more at our stall (probably from around 5:30) and even pick up an explanatory leaflet, which includes a membership form. The Supporters' Club has arranged this event for fans to meet and talk to each other but also engage with members of the club's on and off field staff.
If you will not be there Saturday but might still like to consider becoming a member of The Trust, email dave.farebrothere@suttonunited.net and I will send you the application form. Yearly membership is just £5, or £140 for Life Membership.

Well done to Alison H and her colleagues on the Supporters’ Club committee for arranging last night's gathering and a chance to meet the players, and to John for being an impromptu MC.
Hopefully all enjoyed it and some will be joining up to the Trust or Supporters’ Club.

Was conflicting info about the start time, with the poster saying 6pm, by which time, having actually started at 5, it was over in the main with the Trust no longer available to talk to sadly. But that said, it was a really good chance for supporters to mingle and chat with players and staff so thank you to the organisers. More please 👍🏻
