As this a quiet time for news I thought it might be interesting to repeat a comment from Neil Warnock as reported in the Daily Telegraph following the match against Villa last weekend.
When asked if keeping Sheffild United in the Premiership would be his greatest achievment as a manager he replied, "I think because of what's at stake it might be the biggest but, quite honestly, I go back to Sutton away at Scarborough [where he was in charge during the late Eighties], which was probably my biggest game because it was the first time I got promotion".
Nice to know that we still feature in the memories of a Premiership Manager, even if it's not for any achievment by our own team.

I remember that game distinctly. Despite being one-nil down, we were all over a very nervy (as you can imagine) Scarborough side at the end and probably deserved an equaliser. Sadly we couldn't quite manage that and after a foul on Robin Jones on the half way line as we piled on the pressure, they broke away to score the decisive 2nd goal to assure the first ever automatic promotion to the Football League. I can still see the scorer celebrating with the travelling fans at the Gander Green Lane end. Truly a momentous day for all who were there, including a fair few Barnet fans who'd turned up at GGL to cheer us on. (They weren't playing!)
