He actually kept us in the game with three quality saves.

Burying those bed springs in the ground by the posts finally paid dividends last night....

I am talking about his distribution. He could be the world's greatest shot stopper but his distribution is still atrocious.
Please tell me the point of continually punting the ball the length of the field straight through to the other goalkeeper ?

What does Meh... mean by the way ? It is a verbal shrug of the shoulders.

If there was no flaw in his (or anyones) game, he would be playing at a higher level

The manager should tell him to play the ball into areas where his own players can at least compete for it,and also stop knocking the ball out from goalkicks to players who have someone up their arse.

To be fair Billy, I'd rather have Nicholls punting it the length of the field than the previous keepers just about reaching half-way and generally picking out the spectators rather than players.

I'd rather see the goalkeeper throw the ball out along the floor to someone who is not under pressure and can start to build an attack as opposed to giving it to the opposition.

You think he hasn't thought about that option already? Last night their attacking players were very far up the pitch and as you may of seen once when Nicholls threw the ball out Jacko was put under pressure straight away as a goalkeeper myself you just have to lump the ball as far upfield as possible

I don't know about todays game but when I was a nipper the worst player was always put in goal!! So their passing / kicking ability may even now be a lot to be desired! Paul is by no means the worst distributer of the ball I've seen in our goal, and that put together with him obvious other attributes as seen last night with some wonderful saves, keeps me happy that he is our 'keeper!!

In comparison to previous keepers in recent seasons, i think Nicholls is the better distributer of the ball, Wilson's kicking was poor, often putting it out of play for example

I'm of the impression that Nicholls distribution is excellent and has been previously said, far better than whats gone before.

I'm more than happy with Nicholls distribution - nothing wrong with it that i can see!
