So Paul Harford has gone, but in his place we have Stuart Massey, with just as many connections and loads of enthusiasm, so whats the problem......

The problem is a missing apostrophe...

But I agree, Massey should be good for us. When I told Dom Feltham on Tuesday night, he smiled and said Stuart always assisted him and made him look good...

none of us know the truth of the story, we can only speculate why he left.
Look at it this way, if he had been offered more money to coach at a team with arguably better prospects of promotion, and dare i say it, better players, then who are we to stand in his way?
For all we know he could have left for genuine reasons, then offered money thatwas to good to turn down. We all have bills to pay.
What's done is done. Good luck to him, but more luck for us.

The Lewes position wasn't even available when Paul left so his statement to Sutton would appear to be perfectly valid.Lewes probably offered him a large salary that altered his circumstances.

Absolutely right. Harf is not the kind of bloke to deliberately do the dirty on us. We all know our little club isn't the highest of payers (no bad thing IMO) and I would defy most people not to reconsider any decision made in life, once considerably more money is offered your way. That's what the big man's quandary would've been. Tends to give you the chance to re-evaluate things, wouldn't you say?

I have no problem at all with Paul leaving for more money and/or better opportunities (such as Matt has done), but I stick by what I say above - Paul's move is incompatible with the reasons he gave for leaving us in The Sutton Guardian and that is disappointing.

I think the point is he left for the right reasons and with all good intentions but THEN this Lewes offer came along and maybe it was just too good to turn down.
Anyway, good luck boss!

Without wishing to fuel this debate any further, I saw a copy of the Sports Argus (Brighton) over the w/e. Steve King stated that he had been talking to PH for sometime, although I stress it didn't say what about. It was in an article about PH joining Lewes though & as such that statement could be taken in the wrong (or right?) context.
Anyway, its done now & we have Mass. Let's move on.
