A week Saturday (weather permitting) sees the first ever league visit of Horsham to GGL.
As it is Horsham's first ever league game at your place the Lardy Boys are planning a trip up to enjoy the event.
We will be few in number, big of voice and probably p1ssed as newts by the time 3pm comes around.
We are coming by train and may stop off at Sutton for a couple of beers local to the station before heading off to West Sutton.
A couple of pub related questions – is the Old Bank ok for us to refuel at and is the Plough really to be avoided?
We are a friendly bunch (but dead ugly) so we don’t want to offend any locals at the Plough if they react badly to “foreigners”.
Looking forward to the game because I used to watch Sutton as a kid and the recent anniversary of the Coventry game has brought back plenty of good memories.

The Wealstone bods I've spoken to said the Plough was no bother when they visited just before Xmas. Old Bank isn't a bad starting point for a drink up if you're going to stagger down the High Street.

Why not come straight to the club? The beer is excellent. If you like a really good pint try the Bombadier as it slips down a real treat! All the locals are really friendly and will even talk to away fans.Be warned! Some of our fans are very ugly but not the lovely girs behind the bar they get better looking after every pint.Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Thanks guys
Well, we will see where we end up - we have the best laid plans and then someone opens the bar and we find ourselves distracted.
We will, no doubt, make it to the clubhouse bar at some stage. The offer of Bombardier is quite appealing as well. I guess you have a big screen for any lunchtime ko's?

Another annoying question - how long would it take to walk from Suttin station to the ground?

Its a bit further than a 100 yards! but right out the station walk down to the bottom of the high street turn left after Asda, walk straight past the estate turn right at the mini roundabout go just past the tunnel and turn left into the park, a couple of Pubs are enroute and i'm sure the 'older' members could name all of them and say how good they are

I did say 15 mins from Sutton but West Sutton was next to the ground suggesting a nearer option.Sorry for any confusion.

Hopefully, we should have a decent turn out as it will be our first game since Tooting on Boxing day.
How does your pitch hold up in wet weather?

Generally not too bad, although it's hard to say at the moment because it's seen better days!
