We are in the play off positions with a good chance of staying there, winning it and gaining promotion.Supporters who i haven't seen for a while are coming back through the turnstiles.People asked me last night why we are letting good players go to balance the books. Are we going to blow a good chance of promotion by tying the managers hands behind his back? We had a good cup run for a change bringing in unexepected funds.
Have we learn't nothing from the last twenty years?

We learnt that plenty of clubs get in the brown stuff by spending beyond their means.
He is only letting players go who he doesn't think will get regular games.

As the Chairman has stated before, we have our biggest ever playing budget, although it still not huge, but that doesn't mean that we can keep bringing new players in without letting some go.

Well lets hope he does bring in some new player(s) to replace the ones we are letting go and not just reducing his playing budget at a time when the club looks like its going forward and more people seem to want to watch us. I've never advocated we spend money like confetti but we are sending out the wrong signals by some of the newspaper comments.

No, Paul clearly said he was letting some players go in order to bring others in.
In fact, he has been on the phone to me today to discuss the arrangements for the players he is targeting to bring in.

A number of other clubs at both our level and above have been slashing their budgets left, right and centre. Dorchester are the latest to announce cuts this week. We don't seem to be doing that. In fact, he has been on the phone to me today to discuss the arrangements for the players he is targeting to bring in. Will Kaka be on a one- or two-year deal with us?

Have we learn't nothing from the last twenty years? Yes, we have learnt that clubs who spend beyond their means go bust. The manager's brief, which he accepted, is quite clear - achieve promotion within the agreed budget. Have you learnt nothing from the last twenty years of Canvey, Hornchurch, Kingstonian etc?

Kaka would not be suited to the Ryman style of play so lets not bother I think PD has got it spot on, he is bringing players to do a job of getting us promoted, just because someone is a good player does not mean they will do the job we need at present. PD is a quick learner and is simply trading players to adapt our style of play

Dos said at the Meet the Manager that he was 'one player' over budget. Which surely means if he needs to bring one new face in, he has to get shot of two to balance things up.

Lets not get carried away!We are up to 4th but there is along way to go.I agree it is not a good idea to spend money we aint got but we must trust the board and management to get us there in a sound economic way.We dont want to end up in the sh*t like so many other clubs who have spent beyond their means.Anyway enough of all this economic stuff.lets make sure we do our bit and give the lads maximum support on Saturday.Come on you Yellows!

Strangely enough i want to stay in the play off places and for the club to attract more support. When other supporters come in and ask why are we reducing our wage bill and releasing quality players it requires an answer. You may be happy to watch Ryman division one football in front of 200 supporters but i'm not. We have a chance to move forward and i would hate for it to be derailed by being over cautious.
Is it wrong to debate what goes on or like you accept everything without question.

Have to pull you up on one thing there delboy - going back to taz's statement about meet the manager a month or two ago - the getting players out to get players in was clearly answered there and of course the report of that night is on here.
We do question, and question often, and we get good clear answers
