Missed the LOL there Delboy, top bite mate.
Accept everything without question? I accept that there is a recession going on, a bloody big one, I accept that I have seen many clubs gamble money they don't have only to fail in their quest & end up 3 leagues lower.
I accept that Adam Wilde is a class act, just not doing it at this level, for us anyway. I don't accept that Gavin Heeroo is a class act - a useful utility player who gives his all but not class. I also accept that Dos rates this defender so highly that he is prepared to do what he has to in order to get him. We are short at the back (Kez due a suspension along with Steve McKimm) and we've got enough in midfield and up front to be able to let these two players go.
Sound economics if you ask me.
I'm enjoying this season more than I enjoyed any of our Conf Sth seasons. Our average gate is double the 200 you suggest.
Is that enough debate for you? And, don't miss it .............LOL

No the 200 is for Ryman div 1! I would dispute what you say.Heeroo is a good utility player who can fill almost every position as proved last night.Yes we need a centre back but if we release three players we are leaving ourselves threadbare. I preferred the Conference national actually and i keep bumping into our ex supporters who now follow Crawley.

Hardly Sutton fans if theyre watching Crawley, more like glory hunters.
We off load a couple of players & we're going down then? I didn't say he wasn't good (some might) I said he wasn't a class act. Slight difference that.
If you know anyone with a spare million to get us back into the Conf & stay there, then plse let Mr B Elliott know. Has to be up for it for the long haul mind, not bugger off after the team loses 3 in a row or opts for a train set for his/her new toy instead.

Doswell has a budget. He's currently just over that budget and also wants to bring fresh blood in. That means people HAVE to move on. And more than one. Simple as that.
You see, unlike the Crawleys of this world, we don't leave printers\coach suppliers etc unpaid for their services all while bringing in players on 18 month long FT contracts.....

I don't know about glory hunters.I get told that they can't afford to go and watch premiership games regularly and watching the Conference national is the next best thing. However they were once part of our fan base and we have to try and win them back.

Kaka would not be suited to the Ryman style of play so lets not bother Agreed. He's rubbish

There's a rather baffling lack of understanding of the real world going on here. Only spending the money you have or expect to get is not being over cautious, its being sensible. Spending more money than you have without a hope of clearing the debt is foolhardy. I know that interest rates are lower than they have been since money lenders thought of the idea, but if you want to spend money you haven't got, you still have to persuade a bank manager to lend it to you. Without owning a ground to offer as security, I doubt that the club's overdraft would get very high before questions were raised (and points deducted for being in administration). Is that what you want?

At the end of the day there is one thing that will bring people back to the ground - success. Without stating the blindingly obvious, against Notts County there were probably over 1000 sutton "Supporters" there which would be their only game of the season. Where were they last night?
When I say success I mean sustained success - the top 6 average crowds in the Conf National are all ex established League Teams. Blue Square South is obviously AFC, an ex league team in essence. Although crowds are a little down on last season (unsurprising, but only 16 down on last season so far with big crowds expected on Easter Monday, and potentially more in our chase for a secure play off spot) there are only 4 or 5 clubs whos gates are up on last year, and 3 of those teams are promoted ones. It also doesnt help when we end up playing a lot of teams on cold tuesday nights in a divison where some teams struggle to get crowds over 200.
In summary if people want to go and watch Crawley then thats their choice - like it was my choice to watch Sutton rather than Crawley. It would be very interesting to see how the crowds would be if we were in the Conference and they were in the Ryman. I'm sure it would be a different story

Thats an excellent reason why we need to get back out of this Ryman league and consolidate in the Conference south as soon as possible.I just hope that Dos is given the resources if he needs them.
