Was in the ground last night around 8pm and the pitch was very boggy. If the game goes ahead I suspect it will cut up fairly quickly.

Is that confirmed? I find it hard to believe the pitch is not playable?

Is that confirmed? I find it hard to believe the pitch is not playable? It shedded it down all Saturday night (so much so that there was a ton of standing water in Beddington Park sunday morning). And then again sunday night. Monday morning was so bad (rain & hail) that I took the car to the station instead of doing the 10 minute walk with a brolly. Oh and chucked it down last night as well from about midnight.....

It's frustrating to lose another game to the weather, but TBH I wasn't exactly looking forward to seeing consecutive matches against Horsham. There's more rain forecast for Thursday and Friday, so we'll need to monitor the situation in the Thames marshes ahead of Saturday's trip.

Not surprised really, given the look of the pitch Saturday and the amount of overnight rain it's had. It was cutting up a bit Saturday and I feel that if we played tonight, we may just have well run a plough over it for 90 minutes.
Let's hope next Saturday's on. I'd prefer not to play there mid-week as well.

I was there when it was called off. There were certain areas where you'd sink into the mud if you stood still long enough. It was like a"pudding". A sensible decision.

Thanks for the confirmation frakey and bh. Nice to hear from people who've seen the pitch first hand. Glad not to have to watch a pointless game really )
