Hi guys, Salisbury fan in peace here.
You guys are set to sign Tim Bond from us tomorow on a permenant deal.
if you don't remember him from the our connie south days (many moons ago!), he's a centre back, about 6'2' and is relatively fast.
he's a cracking player with real talent, and he certainly held his own in the Conference. he has fell out of favour in the last few weeks, due to us bringing in a CB from Aldershot on loan.
as you know we have lost most of our squad due to finance problems, all of them legends who help our rise. this has unsettled the squad and we hardly recognise the squad oursleves. this probably has something to do with is move.
we are absolutely gutted to lose tim, and i wish him all the best. you've got yourself a great signing!
(PS. sorry for the rant, just a bit upset with him going! goodluck!)

Saw on the BBC today that the guy who quit in the summer is coming back in, so Salisbury should be getting a boost shortly.
I guess this is the CB Dos wanted!

If that is true that would be why Dos needed to offload a couple of players. If it comes off I do hope Delboy is happy. LOL
That'll be Collins, Munday, Kes, T Hughes & now Mr Bond who can play centre back plus Jacko. One question, why can't we get a left back to cover for AJ?!!! A left footed one anyway. LOL

Just checked out the Salisbury City website, and see that Tim was born in Carshalton, so he'll certainly know his way round the area ! It doesn't say where he lives now though

Squad number: 5 Birthdate: November 29, 1984 Birthplace: Carshalton Signed for City: February 2004 Appearances: 141 (+5)
SUPERB young prospect who has been an integral part of the club’s back-to-back promotion-winning teams. Signed in February 2004 from AFC Bournemouth, the Chichester University student formed an inspired partnership with skipper Aaron Cook at the heart of City’s defence and has now made more than 100 games for the club. Suffered a series of niggling injuries so far tis season, but has recently got a number of reserve team games under his belt and netted twice in the 13-0 Hospital Cup victory over Chalke Valley.

I didn't think Charlie did anything wrong when he came in. It is getting to the business end of the season and i don't think Dos is wanting to take the risk of inexperience at the moment, the only way i can see it. Hope he gets his chance though at some point

I as waiting for a comment from one of our Suburbanites. LOL
I did point to the fact that a couple have been recognised by being offered contracts.
I think Dos' comment in this week's Guardian says it all. He wants BIG defenders & Charlie doen't fall into that category at the mo. Having said that he did nothing wrong when he was selected and is no doubt a great prospect for the future.

I think Dos' comment in this week's Guardian says it all. He wants BIG defenders. I think that is spot on and just how you get out of the RP, if you got big tough experienced defenders and a 30+ forward you have yourself a playoff spot. Whats more is you probably get mid table Connie sth too and then you can bring in the youngsters. Its about the right players at the right time it does not reflect on a particular bunch of kids, we cannot afford to keep all the players who are not ready for the first team and neither can they be denied the opportunity of 1st team football elsewhere. Kids at the wrong time spells disaster!

I'd say that Dos has been very clear about what players he wants and how he wants to play, sometimes going so far as to practically name the line up in in the post match interview (you read between the lines obviously but still) so i don't think anything should come as a surprise. I'd much rather have Charlie blooded again than have Gavin Heero (he's yet to make a position his own) play on the left if AJ is out but i'm not the management team and i trust them to get it right far more than i ever did Howe or Hazel so i let it be. I'm sure Westy and McKimm have had many a late night phone call from Dos over the defensive situation and any signing or tactical decision has not been taken lightly. And, of course, it falls back to the fact that if you're good enough you'll generally end up at the right level. I can certainly think of somebody who couldn't get in the Sutton side who's now ever-present in a Conf South side ... Oh yeah, every Salisbury fan i've heard from rates Tim Bond massively and he's done a rapid rise up the leagues before so this could be another top signing

Does that include Solomon Taiwo, who could be going to Championship side before Monday???
