Sitting here in deepest Kent it has been snowing on and off since noon.It is now a sodding blizzard with 4cm on the ground in the last 30mins.If it is heading your way good luck on the morning journey to work and dont expect to see a midweek game.I hope my prediction is wrong but it dont look good. The forecast for the next two days is worse.Today is only the light stuff!Take care.See you all soon Wellie.

Harrow: SNOW CHANCE if the snow don't get it the frost will see you all at Staines Edit: I now don't think I could find Harrow let alone the pitch

There's about 4 to 6 inches of snow outside this morning in Cheam. Trains are not running or badly delayed (meaning not running). Only one car has been past my house this morning instead of the usual stream. It's not looking good for Harrow

Haven't sen it this deep for many a year. Just been out & watching the cars struggle up Stonecot Hill. One van is stuck at the junction of Garth Road, while another was losing its grip & about to cause a major obstruction on the main road itself.
My neighbour can't even get off his osp!!
No buses, no trams & if I walk to Croydon I will just get there in time to turn around & go back again, it is heavy going on the pavements too!
And more snow to come!!

Starting work at 12 in Dorking but called in already and said 'No chance'! I'm not getting stuck at bloody Kuoni for anybody. My Mrs is a teacher and her school's shut... one in Cheam funnily enough. I doubt they'll do a pitch inspection tomorrow, not because it's a waste of time but because the ref'll never get there!

I've had 8 inches of fresh snow outside mine in our little Close and totally sunk into it. Tried scraping the car but dunno why cos i'd have got nowhere. Got a call to say don't bother, my mate got from GGL to North Cheam in an hour and saw 2 accidents and turned home also.

Measured the snow out the front and it is just over a foot deep . Cheam is virtually dead. The snow has covered the railway lines and what trafic is on the roads is mostly travelling sideways. The travel websites have been inundated and some have crashed. Everyone was warned that snow was coming almost a week ago so where are the grit trucks

I think it arrived earlier than expected. Even gritting the main roads won't help if you can't get the car of the drive or down the side road. Even if gritted would the snow not just cover it?
Some kids had left a three foot snow ball in the middle of my road. I watched a 4x4 smash straight through it.

Just had the best walk into work ever from Frederick Road to Cheam Village. Everybody's nice and happy and people are even saying hello to each other!! Walked up the carriageway of the A217 - there more more pedestrians on St. Dunstan's Hill than cars. Further up there were cars and lorries pointing in all sorts of directions on Belmont Rise going over the bridge towards Belmont. Even better, the milkman made it to the office this morning so I can drink tea all day. Am currently the only person in the office though and I'm wondering whether I missed the phonecall that said don't bother coming to work today

Sometimes, living closest to the office sucks Miller! I managed to trudge to Carshalton station, simply because I'm pig headed. And a small child at heart that likes being out in the snow. Naturally, no trains as the tracks are also under the same foot of white stuff I'd been walking through. Certainly the worst I can remember it for a good while.

The last time we had snow of this magnitude was February 1991 - I remember it well, sinking waist deep into it in Rosehill Park. I decided I wasnt going into work, and phoned others to tell them not to bother either.
No chance of tomorrow, but I'm thinking Staines has little chance either - apart from tomorrow Sleet/Snow forecast all week now and temperatures not really raising much, which is not a bad thing - if it gets too warm too quickly, flooding will happen.
I did like Gareths observation - its true, people are actually talking to each other today!

Agreed. Everyone was smiling & good natured this morning. Very un-British!
So, anyone heard any news yet on when we can expect a pitch inspection at Harrow?? ;D
