Marvellous. At least it's proper snow this time, rather than the one centimetre that usually gets people shirking off work. I do not recommend waking up with a hangover on a mates sofa when said mate lives up a very steep hill. Practically slid all the way to Sainsbury's My train was running too

I think OS should be re-named Pessimistic Sutman! ;D Forecast for Harrow tomorrow shows sunshine and no snow! www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2088However, even if the Harrow guys can clear the snow off the pitch, the frost could still put paid to the game.

Well I do think the 1% chance of the game being on is a little optimistic so maybe AA. I am now off to find a shovel then to find the car ;D

Ah I'm a bit pig headed like Taz and walked to East Croydon at 6am. Lo and behold I got a train at 11am to Victoria and am now in the office. The only problem now is that I have no chance of getting home. What a fool!!! Oh BTW I wasn't at the station for 5 hours, I went round my mate's place in E Croydon for tea!

Fortunately, my pig headed-ness doesn't quite extend to tabbing it all the way to bloody East Croydon! Although, even if it had, I'd have been stuck at Clapham. The trains to Egham were suspended about 8am apparently. Currently 'Working' from home with all the tea & toast I need.

Woke up at 7.15 and suddenly realized I no longer work ;D Brought back "fond" memories of Jan-Mar 1963, winter in late 70's and the storms of Oct 1987 when I DID have to venture out. Got caught out a couple of times having driven into London and then the weather brought ice and snow late afternoon and got half way home and had to abandon car and walk. Found it difficult to sleep as I did not know if I had left car on yellow line or not. I walked from Wallington to Croydon after the storms of '87 and then fielded calls from work colleagues saying they couldn't get in and I knew damn well they lived in Croydon. Snowing again in Wallington and is now at least a foot deep outside with more to come and then freezing temps. Now where did I put the duvet? Me go to Harrow tomorrow? you must be joking. Hope you all get home ok.

One poor bloke from our office took over 4 hours to get to Cheam this morning from Teddington. Finally turned up about 11.30 and got his car stuck on the access road. It took us about 20 minutes to push him back out to the main road where he just turned around and headed back home. After digging about 5 other cars out of the snow and setting them on their jolly way home, Cheam Rescue decided to disand pretty sharpish, lock the office up and bugger off home. What's on the box this afternoon? Have I missed Jeremy Kyle?

It is like the winter of discontent a) Wildcat Strike b) Blooming Freezing cold c) Economic Downturn d) An unpopular prime minister
We are, folks, back in 1979 again! Didn't we win the Anglo-Italian that year?

Great morning in my road.Hardly anyone got to work and a massive snowball fight between kids off school and adults. The sledge came out in the afternoon.A pity it only happens once every 20 years!
