I really couldn't pick out just one, the whole squad really has been fantastic this season like performances in goal by Nicholls. AJ, Jacko, Kes and Collins who have been here since the start of the season have produced some inspiring performances and our midfield really has been excellent with the likes of Hughes, Dundas, McKimm and Palmer playing so well. Our strikeforce has been the best its been since i've started watching Sutton in my opinion, Westy who i don't think has lost a single header all season, McCallum who has been fantastic out wide or in the centre, Chukki when fit is a real asset to the team especially during his little run of scoring goals a couple of months back and supersub Billy Dunn has shown great maturity at a young age to go out onto the pitch at Ryman Premier level and score goals for fun.
Lets just say i wouldn't like to be picking the player of the season!

Chris Collins. A proper centre half.
David Hughes could run him close if he has the finish to the season I expect him to have.

I'd say David Hughes, closely followed by Collins. Honourable mentions for Billy Dunn and Simon Jackson.

Couple of players i can think of: 1. David Hughes 2. Chris Collins 3. Simon Jackson
I think without those three, we would be still in the bottom half of the league
Also special mention for Billy Dunn, AJ and suprise package of McKimm and West!

As Jon pointed out, its really tricky to single out one player. I'd agree with Collins and Hughes, but then again I wouldn't rule out any of the first team regulars at all. With no disrespect to anyone, and taking into account we are playing at a lower level, this is by far the best Sutton team i've seen in 5 years, and its a massive credit to Dos that he's brought in some of the players with real high calibre - I couldn't imagine Haze or EH having any chance of getting someone with Chukki's pedigree into our side. But apart from those already mentioned, I want to add to that Dundo and Matt Hann, both of who were not automatic choices earlier in the season, and have fought their way back into contention with some solid and potentially match changing performances.

Since i started going again (Heybridge Swifts) i have enjoyed watching Hughes,McCallum and Dunn amongst others. However Matt Hann has become my favourite player in recent weeks,a beautifully balanced player with a lot of skill who also puts in a fair share of work.
I wouldn't go overboard about any of the defenders with the obvious exception of Downer.

I would not know who to pick, just to say we have the best bunch of players since 2003/4 but I will put Dean Palmer's name in the hat. We adds drive to the middle and gets his name on the score sheet and we are a better side with him playing :-)

Downer only played about 5 games. Does not say much for the rest of the lads if you think he is our player of the season!

Downer looked the best defender by a country mile in the 9 games he played in,or at least the ones i saw. The defence is not exactly covering itself in glory - is it ?

Difficult to choose at the moment but i believe that David Hughes is the player that makes us tick and is the most difficult to replace.AJ is getting better and better and Craig Dundas seems to enjoy the midfield role.

That is why Billy, Simon Downer is now a Conference player.
As for our defence, it as been ht by injury and also had to use alot of different personnel over the season for various reasons. A top defence is one that is a settled unit & that is why, for me, Chris Collins was my choice. Even though he has had so many centre back partners to perform with he has maintained a consistently high level of performance throughout.

Since i've been going Sutton have conceded 2/3 goals in a game on ten occasions.I'll stick with people who can play a bit thankyou very much.
Collins and Mckimm would be OK if they did a remake of The Flintstones. They remind me of Fred and Barney.

I think that post just about sums you up. You obviously have a bad taste in films and you dont really know what you are talking about when it comes to football. Is Nicholls to blame for 2/3 goals a game.....no. Is the defence to blame.....no. Is the team to blame........YES. All round team performances have cost us goals at times not mistakes by anyone person. In your line of thinking i will go for Mcullum them i will forget the numerous 1v1 chances he has missed all season and just look at the stats. NICE ONE
