With goals coming from their number 5 (for both sides!), Dundo and McCallum. A great win for us, ref was usual detritus, Dos being sent off in the first half, and now back in a play off place thanks to Dartford losing. Sadly the bobbins won, but otherwise a good day all round!

Just thought I would post this from the This is Kent site, it will save a lot of typing, but what a great performance today. My Mum always said that cheats never prosper and today it was proved right? I have not felt so good about a game for a good few seasons Angels: 1 Sutton: 3 16:57 - FULL TIME - Angels: 1 Sutton: 3 Angels lost for the first time in eight matches as they failed to really fire against a powerful, skillful and quick Sutton United. It could have been a lot different if Carl Rook had of converted one of his first half chances and Sutton's first goal knocked the stuffing out of the home team. Sutton hit Angels on the break twice in the second half to pick up the win and they had the game's outstanding performer - Gavin McCallum, who scored one and provided the pass for Craig Dundas' goal. Tuesday's home match against Carshalton now takes on massive importance for Angels.
16:55 - Sutton make a change as Billy Dunn replaces Eribeene, who has run his heart out for his team.
16:52 - GOAL Angels: 1 Sutton: 3 Angels get a goal back after Sutton fail to clear their lines and Legge places the ball past Nicholls.
16:46 - Some Angels fans have seen enough for one afternoon as the North stand begins to empty. Rook has come off and Bobby Dixey gets a run out for the home side.
16:43 - GOAL Angels: 0 Sutton: 3 It gets better for Sutton minutes later when the impressive McCallum sweeps in a low right-footed shot past the dive of Worgan from just inside the penalty area. Game over for Angels.
16:41 - GOAL Angels: 0 Sutton: 2 Sutton extend their lead through Craig Dundas. McCallum pulls the ball back to him, after a great run and the midfielder finishes well.
16:40 - Angels need to up the tempo if they are to get back into the match and give the sizable home contingent something to shout about. It is all a bit quiet at the Longmead.
16:37 - Tim Olorunda comes off and Michael Phillips replaces him for Angels.
16:35 - Not much action down at the Longmead as neither team seems to want to keep the ball.
16:30 - Rook is fit enough to continue.
16:26 - Angels should be level. Phil Starkey's cross picks out Rook eight yards out. The ball bobbles at the crucial time, which gives Nicholls time to block his shot. The rebound falls to Logan but his effort goes wide. Best chance of the match for Angels. Rook could have picked up an injury though which could mean the end of his afternoon.
16:22 - Storey's free-kick is flighted to the back post where Legge meets the ball but his header goes over the bar. Fraser Logan comes on for Westcott as Tommy Warrilow makes his first change. Hamilton goes to right-midfield and Simon Glover slots into the left-back position.
16:18 - The game is stopped so that Sutton's Tim Bond can get treatment. He can't continue and is replaced by Oscar Lubwana.
16:15 - Sutton respond with a chance of their own. McCallum swings in a corner and Tim Bond heads over the bar, much to Worgan's relief.
16:14 - Angels have the first chance of the second half. Storey's powerful run and cross picks out Rook in the penalty. He takes on the volley and Nicholls pushes the effort behind for a corner.
16:09 - A quiet start to the second half and perhaps this is understandable after the fireworks of the opening 45 minutes.
16:07 - Sutton kick-off the second half.
15:52 - HALF-TIME Angels: 0 Sutton: 1 A scrappy 45 minutes in which neither team have really stamped their authority on the match but Sutton won't care. A crucial team talk for Tommy Warrilow. GOAL - Angels:0 Sutton: 1 Disaster for Angels just before half-time. A hopeful cross into the box from Sutton is headed past Worgan by Legge, who can't have heard the call from the goal keeper.
15:47 - Dundas makes the wrong decision to shoot from 20-yards out as Hann was all alone on the right. That could have been a real chance for Sutton. Three minutes of injury time will be played.
15:45 - Rook can't believe his luck when the ball comes to him and he is clean through. Sadly he scuffs his shot and Paul Nicholls easliy saves.
15:41 - Angels nearly score as Rook's shot is cleared off the line by the Sutton defence. This game has exploded to life all of a sudden.
15:39 - The game hasn't restarted yet and the Sutton manager, Paul Doswell has been sent from the pitch for the altercation.
15:36 - Legge is caught late by Chukki Eribeene, who is booked. Bedlam then ensues as both benches clash with one of Sutton's staff appearing to strike Storey. Crazy scenes here at the Longmead.
15:33 - Sutton's Karim El-Salahi is a lucky boy. He is nearly robbed by Rook, who would have been clean through, but the bounce favours him, enabling him to clear the ball.
15:30 - Sutton carve out another chance and this time it comes from the right. Hann feeds Gavin McCallum but he over runs the ball and his tame shot is easily gathered by Worgan.
15:28 - Craig Dundas picks up a booking after a challenge with Jamie Cade. A decision which angers the Sutton fans behind Worgan's goal.
15:25 - Lee Worgan performs miracles to deny Matt Hann, who was found by McCallum, on two occasions as Sutton open up Angels' defence.
15:23 - Sutton's Mckimm is the first player to go into the referee's notebook following a challenge on Storey.
15:22 - Leon Legge, back from his one match ban, looks like he is really up for this match judging by his defensive headers so far.
15:19 - The home side are beginning to find their feet as they keep possession well and this gets the Angels supporters singing.
15:16 - Angels first chance of the afternoon falls to Carl Rook. He gets on the end of a Anthony Storey long ball but hits his shot over the bar.
15:13 - Angels manager Tommy Warrilow said he expected a tough, physical battle and this is exactly what the early exchanges have been. Neither team have been able to get the ball down and play as of yet.
15:10 - The game hasn't really got going yet but Sutton have made the better start. Mckimm has the first shot but screws his effort wide from the right.
15:08 - Sutton's Dean Palmer picks up an injury after a challenge with John Westcott and despite getting treatment, he can't continue. Steve Mckimm replaces him
15:02 - Angels get the match underway.
TEAMS Angels: Worgan, Starkey, Hamilton, T Olorunda, Legge, Gooding, Westcott, Storey, Cade, Rook, Glover. Subs: Logan, Phillips, Butler, Dixey. Sutton: Nicholls, El-Salahi, Ebsworth, Palmer, Collins, Bond, Hann, Dundas,

A first today for Craig Dundas: he had the ball; he passed the ball; an opponent made contact after Craig had passed the ball; Craig got cautioned for a foul Surely the strangest decision ever, on a bizarre afternoon memorable for two brilliant runs by Gavin McCallum.

Another first? Dos being sent-off. Is he the first manager ever to be ordered off? I know Richard Parkin did but he was the coach.
Anyway, Angels seemed more concerned about winding up Dos today than playing football. From the prog notes (the absent Chair, Nick Sullivan) included to the pre-match 70's music, all for Dos apparently.
Anyway, what really matter is we stuffed 'em 3-1 thanks to two pieces of quality from Gav and a superb header from Leon Legge.
As for Craig's booking, it rather sums up the quality of refereeing in the Ryman Lgue. How could he possibly be booked for reaching the ball first & finding our right back with a firm pass? Even former FL ref, Mr Pettitt (then of Welling) couldn't answer that when I asked him at ht!!
Dundo & Chukki now due suspensions & Deano & Tim Bond joining AJ & Jacko on the injured list. Do we need to get John Munday back?
A solid debut by young Darren Ebsworth & also a debut for Oscar Lubwama.
God battling team performance and an excellent 3 points against an inform team.

Sadly the bobbins won, but otherwise a good day all round! The usual humility I see from Gangrene. We came back from 2-1 down (after Wealdstone had missed - badly - a second penalty awarded by Mr Pratt from Harrow). Apparently this is what a home win looks like, had almost forgotten. The major talking point though is the behaviour of your manager. Seems like he has lost it big time. Wasn't today supposed to be a memorial? I wonder what the perceived gentlemen of your board will do? Could you imagine this happening 30 years ago? Despite my allegiance, I have always had grudging respect for SUFC and the way it is run and, although I can currently only go on what has been described in the various fora, it seems as if there is a case to answer. <sits waiting....>

I imagine it will be dealt with privately in a gentlemanly and professional manner. Not all of us air our dirty washing in public... Personally i'm waiting till i hear what was said to provoke the reaction.

But...but.. but...airing of dirty washing in public is the GBPs lifeblood. Surely you won't deny us that?

Dos didn't run on the pitch and kick the guy. There was an argument brewing between the two dug outs after a challenge by Eribenne for which he got booked. It should be said the Angels player made a meal of it but no change there from footballers nowadays.
As the argument escalated the Tonbrige players were drawn over, then the Sutton players joined them. The guy must have said something to Dos & he reacted.
The game wasn't a memorial, it was a Ryman Lgue fixture which a former U's regular supporter quite rightly took the oportunity to remember his son & raise funds for the charity CRY.
Whilst Dos' actions were unacceptable, Angels can hardly consider themselves professional with their, unfortunately successful, attempt to wind up Dos through their programme notes & the idiot on the tannoy.
When they visited GGL earlier this season they were the most robust - with regards to their tackling - team I had seen this season (still are) and Dos made that observation himself.
They didn't like it!
As for what our board will do, who can tell? And why are you so interested? Do you not support a club who once employed Graham Roberts as a manager? He hardly covered himself in glory I seemed to remember.
I hope you're still sitting.

Tonbridge obviously lost, and so did Dartford, and those results made me happy. Onto your other point, I really wouldn't say that he has lost it bigtime. Although I was far from the incident, seeing one of their players go down with a "facial injury" in the fracas akin to Rivaldo in the 2002 world cup semi final probably influenced the ref's decision more, because at that point he had lost control of the match. From all the things I gather, it seemed that Dos had been provoked into a reaction, which may have been wrong, but it did seem obvious (see Mr Frakes post above) that Tonbridge were determined to wind Dos up as a result of his comments about the home game in November. I'm sure it will be dealt with properly internally. And of course the FA may decide to give a touchline ban for a period too - I have to admit I don't know what the rules are on that one. I could start about your whole manager/chairman relationship, but to be honest, i'm far too smart and smug to lower myself to the concerns of the bobbins - I know how you lot down the road love to jump on the chance of something going a miss in the better half of the borough, but trust me, if we were in different leagues or different parts of the table, I couldn't give two hoots about what happens with you guys.

I did not see the incident clearly or hear what was said but what I did see was blatant cheating faining of injury and deliberate attempts by Tonbridge to provoke our management staff and players. I am not condoning anything PD may or may not of done but would say that everyone who cares about the game losses occasionally. What TA did today was calculated and below what is expected in the name of fair play and all they did was hand the initiative to us and got what they deserved on the field of play a damn good thrashing. TA have yet to beat any of the sides in the top 5 and on that evidence will struggle to cling on to a play off spot.
THE ONE THING I CANNOT ABIDE IS CHEATING!

i dont usually lower myself to register onto alien forums just to reply to the nonsensical trash that is pasted in such places but this time is an exception. a quick first and last post before i catch something. whilst there is no doubting you deserved the win today you should be totally ashamed for completely dumbing down the actions of Mr Doswell. what he did today was a disgrace and should be punished heavily. the whole episode lift a sour taste in the mouth at a game that was dedicated to someone with passionate links to both clubs but particularly your club. it always amazes me that when your club are 'dishing it out' as they did in the first half we are accused of cheating and diving. when it's the other way round we are still playing in the 70s! oh you U's are so pure and innocent. perhaps the programme and interval music was a bit tongue in cheek. have you lot heard of a sense of humour? best of luck for the rest of the season with a new manager. PS i doubt even if 'o.s.' was even at the game.
