Perhaps I just have good esp then? Although I would say your No3's dive at the start of the second half when caught wrong side was probably the most pathetic of the match.
Sorry there's no nice way to say cheating!

Dos didn't run on the pitch and kick the guy. There was an argument brewing between the two dug outs after a challenge by Eribenne for which he got booked. It should be said the Angels player made a meal of it but no change there from footballers nowadays. As the argument escalated the Tonbrige players were drawn over, then the Sutton players joined them. The guy must have said something to Dos & he reacted. The game wasn't a memorial, it was a Ryman Lgue fixture which a former U's regular supporter quite rightly took the oportunity to remember his son & raise funds for the charity CRY. Whilst Dos' actions were unacceptable, Angels can hardly consider themselves professional with their, unfortunately successful, attempt to wind up Dos through their programme notes & the idiot on the tannoy. When they visited GGL earlier this season they were the most robust - with regards to their tackling - team I had seen this season (still are) and Dos made that observation himself. They didn't like it! As for what our board will do, who can tell? And why are you so interested? Do you not support a club who once employed Graham Roberts as a manager? He hardly covered himself in glory I seemed to remember. I hope you're still sitting. This post has given me the best laugh I have had for ages! Fish in a bleedin' barrel! Good job its a quiet evening here eh? Sorry Derek.....you deserved that "bite". I'm not sure you understand and to be honest am a bit surprised at your comments. Please don't bring other factors into today's game....it turned out to be a grudge match due to Warrilow's programme notes so I guess we should thank him for taking care of the team-talk

i dont usually lower myself to register onto alien forums just to reply to the nonsensical trash that is pasted in such places but this time is an exception. a quick first and last post before i catch something. whilst there is no doubting you deserved the win today you should be totally ashamed for completely dumbing down the actions of Mr Doswell. what he did today was a disgrace and should be punished heavily. the whole episode lift a sour taste in the mouth at a game that was dedicated to someone with passionate links to both clubs but particularly your club. it always amazes me that when your club are 'dishing it out' as they did in the first half we are accused of cheating and diving. when it's the other way round we are still playing in the 70s! oh you U's are so pure and innocent. perhaps the programme and interval music was a bit tongue in cheek. have you lot heard of a sense of humour? best of luck for the rest of the season with a new manager. PS i doubt even if 'o.s.' was even at the game. O.S was at the game. Maybe you should ask your "Captain Marvel" what he was doing as it all "kicked-off". You might just find out why he ended up in a heap....you might want to tell your lads that the Oscar nominations are all done and dusted though ;D Still.......I'm sure there's a new series of Life on Mars coming up that will remind you guys of the good times...................

The Doswell incident occurred amidst a melee of players, a good 50 yards from where most of us were standing. It really was very difficult to see exactly what happened. I'll await reports from those who had a better view, but it may well turn out to have been just a sideshow.
The comedy own goal by Leon Legge (who otherwise had an excellent game for Angels) helped to turn things our way just before half-time. But going into the final quarter the game was still very much in the balance. Then two well-crafted goals in the space of three minutes handed us the advantage.
I have to say that I expected a bit more from Tonbridge. I wouldn't say they were particularly dirty or unreconstructed, just rather ordinary. Staines two weeks ago looked a much better side.
Bizarre fact: three of our four away wins in the league have come against sides in the top six.

I think everyone is missing the main talking point from the game... Why were the teams announced in alphabetical order?

www.tonbridgeafc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,6362.0.html Tonbridge's take on it - surprisingly they are treating Dos like he'd put someone's cat in a microwave. Although, I accept, it was difficult to see what happened in the crowd directly prior to his dismissal, one fact that was obvious from where we were (and probably everyone in the ground) was that there was an obvious provocation from the Angels bench which started the whole thing. The finger of blame MUST be pointed in that direction too. I'm not ashamed or embarressed, as the Tonbridge forum points out. It just shows they are really a Kent Tinpot league team who couldn't take a small critisism back in November, bore a HUGE grudge (more than likely because they were aware that we posed a threat to their league position - I can't see them slagging off Heybridge if a similar comment was made) and did whatever they could to undermine this - from the snide programme notes from their tinpot manager to the quite frankly idiotic digs from the announcer. Almost makes me pine for the Borg.....

Never seen a cat in a Microwave, Feezer on the other hand....
Good game yesterday, thought we outplayed, outclassed and outmuscled them with only once again the man in black to stop us (What is it with Ryman refs and the 'interpretations' of the law?, cant see ho Chukki and Dundo got booked!).
Cracking own goal by Lugge, for some reason it took so long for it to bounce over the line!, and for once it was nice to go 1-0 up just before half-time. Second half we did look a better side than a rather average looking Tonbridge team. So Cracking running from Gav who not only set up Dundo for a blasting second goal (Was really glad for Dundo to grab a goal), he then 2 mins done the same run and poached another for himself (Last two games now Gav has hit some form finally).
Other notes on the day, The Sun was out, a nice few pints in the town centre, i pay £2.10 for a lager, Wellie pays 99p for a Ruddles! (Mental Note - got to start drinking Ales!) Somehow didn't pay getting into the ground walked straight through the clubhouse without knowing! He! He!, I thought the away support was great as well real togetherness and comadre doing what we do best (Shout Abuse, Sing and Chant) nice to see KBB getting the chanting going as well.
Finally with regards to the 'Incident' i thought Chukki for all intents and purposes brushed i think Number 3 who then like all good Kentmen of questionable breeding stock went down like he was executed. While he was receiving treatment and there captain took on himself to goad us behind the goal, something was clearly said from the Tonbridge bench to our bench (if i was to speculate for one momment Dos could have been complaining to the ref about the dive when the Angels might have remarked about the 70s style of football). What followed was after squaring up to the bench Dos was then swamped by most of the Angel players and staff one fella goes down like he was shot. i thought Dos hit him but general concensus is hit kicked him, so i'll concede on that one. Also the Ref who took so long to send him off and then did not mutter a word to the Angel Bench!.
Just another example of Kent Mentallity of Cheating there way to Victory. Thats why i love football, the sheer Tribalism it produces!. see on the Tonbridge Forums, the outcry from there fans about Doswell the 'Disgrace' who should be banned for life and the sort! Roll on Tooting!
Phew, finished! Now on my way to Football, One game in three Months and i got a Double Header next to the Kingston By-Pass, fitness don't come into it! Think i might recreate the Dos incident, but being in the Sunday Leagues i think it might have a different outcome i wonder....

To Vot P. You asked, I answered. If that gives you the best laugh in ages then you must have a sad life.
If you don't like the response foo off back to your on forum or (as usual) is it all a bit too quiet for you on there?
That's twice you've had a pop at me recently. You think you're so superior. Well, here's a nice little realisation for you, you ain't mate.

Great result! Not the best game, but at times we played some really good stuff. It's a shame that the game was marred by Dos getting sent off, which I must state was clearly the intention of everyone on the Tonbridge bench from the start. However, their master plan backfire spectacularly as it was their own players who lost it mentally after the shambles which needlessly involved nearly everyone on the pitch. Warrilow must have wished he had concentrated on the game and not getting Dos removed as he watched Legge deftly nod the ball away from his own keeper, probably not expecting him to move out behind him, in what has to be a contender from comedy moment of the season. McCallum and Dundas were superb and Matt Hann worked tirelessly. Collins was very solid at the back and the new loanee covered well at left back. Shame that Deano and Bond picked up knocks that saw them leave the field. One question, how did the league allow a man from Maidstone, virtual neighbors to Tonebridge, referee this game when there were two officials from Crawley, a more neutral location His incompetance and responses to the blatent overreactions of the Tonbridge players helped create the mass argument that this game will most probably be remembered for. As an addition, I have read the Non-League Paper's review of the match and I have to say that the reporter must have turned up to the wrong game. I quote: 'The game turned in Sutton's favour when Chukki Eribenne went on a solo run, and blaster a shot into the goalmouth which then fell to Craig Dundas who blasted a superb shot past Worgan.'Was it not Gav McCallum who went on the solo run? Was it not McCallum who, rather than 'blast a shot into the goalmouth', skipped to the by-line and passed the ball back for Dundas? Did Dundas not sidefoot the ball past Wargon into the roof of the net? I quote: 'Sutton added a third just two minutes later when McCallum has a simple tap in to put the game out of Tonbridge's range.'Did Gav not brilliantly mug off two of their defenders, cut back and slot the ball past the keeper into the far bottom corner? What was simple about such a brilliant piece of individual skill? Never mind Gav, some of us appriciate your efforts!!!

Quite ! Gavin beat 3 men and then cut in, curling a shot from about 12 yards with his "wrong" foot round a crowd of players into probably the only bit of the goal he could see. The sort of tap-in usually down to the likes of Maradona or Best.
His "provider" role for Dundas wasn't half-bad either !!

Strange that its not the first time this season TA have had a touchline altercation? Its also not the first time that Storey has been involved in provocation, apparently has a history of it? With the tannoy announcer working on the TA managers instructions accompanied by provocative programme notes it does not really take a rocket scientist to workout what their intentions were.

So as a matter of interest what was the tannoy announcer up to? And the prog notes? I've noticed a tendency for partisanship in both these areas recently and I don't like it, not the puerile razzamatazz that accompanies home goals at ground like St Albans a couple of years ago. None of that excuses outburst by people like mangers who ought to know better and set some sort of example. I'm surprised how many of you lot defensively defend it by blaming the provocation. I would be appalled if it happened at Colston Avenue, just as I was embarrassed by some of Roberts' tantrums when he was here.
